After Aamir Khan walked away from the project and news that Hrithik Roshan was signed, it seems director Nitya Mehra has finally zeroed in on Farhan Akhtar for her next, produced by Excel Entertainment.
Mehra had reportedly been in conversation with Roshan and there were reports that the actor had signed on the dotted line and would be seen opposite Deepika Padukone for the first time. However, although it is not known what went wrong, it seems Mehra finally approached the producer himself to act in his home production.
The film is said to be based on a story to do with time-travel with a romantic angle. Akhtar and Padukone will be starring together once again after Karthik Calling Karthik' (2010).
