Gunday was most definitely more hyped than 2 States; it opened better too. One sustained and the other didn't. Arjun is winning the race right now amongst the newcomers, but somehow I still don't think he is that popular by himself. 😕

2 states did have much more buzz and anticipation than gunday did. The fan club for 2 states the movie on twitter had about 17k followers a month before it released, gundays FC had about 6k. Also the trailer of 2 states has about 7 million views whereas the trailer of gunday has about 4 million views.

the movies based on chetan bhagat novles 3 idiots and kai po che did very well, so therefore it did have a lot of buzz because before its release.

We don't know a lot about tevar or kill dil to even comment on them. Either of the movie trailers has not released nor have the songs.

Both DDD and BM are already in the news, so there is buzz for them.

Completely agree with u.Gunday is a movie that mainly appealed to the single screen audience...Even the trailer promised a mass masala entertainer...2states had hype not only in North India but also South India where none of the audience usually care abt BW movies...But since its based on CB's well loved and popular novel,it gathered so much hype and speculation...CB,one of the most famous authors in India right now, promoting it actively everywhere touting it as his real life love story increased the anticipation..At some centres in South,its doing better than even Chennai Express...The concept of 2states appealed to audience all over India unlike Gundey which mainly catered to viewersl in NI...Gundey had some level of competition from HTP and Highway...2 states had none

Ranbir is supposed to do a film with Anand Rai right, If Pari manages to get that then that will be awesome

Sushant and Ranveer are the ones leading the race among the new gen actors IMHO

I as a Sid fan have no issue in admitting he is falling behind as far as B.O is concerned

But I am pretty sure he is as loved and appreciated as Arjun,ARK and Varun by the audience.Even the critics didnt rate him badly(save for Anirudh Guha,who didnt give favorable reviews for Arjun in Ishqazaade,2states or Ranveer in Lootera either)...Atleast no critic mentioned he was unfit for essaying Nikhil's role in HTP and Pari-Sid chemistry was appreciated in reviews(ppl mentioned it as main selling point) than Arjun-Alia,Varun-Illeana etc...And I believe chemistry doesnt click unless 2 actors involved are doing good work.

As for the big hits of 2014,they are yet to arrive..My bet is on HNY,Peekay,BV.I dont think Kick would do that much of good business like ppl are expecting it to.
