more than box office pull I feel its more to do with buzz surrounding the movie. 2 states had much higher buzz than gunday because it is a chetan bhagat novel based. Also gunday had about 4 consecutive movies releasing after it whereas 2 states has literally no competition with any movie, no movie to hinder its collections.If you look at ranveers lineup for next year it seems very strong. Zoyas movie after ZNMD with a large starcast and also Bajirao mastani which has been getting buzz for years and probably slb's most anticipated movie.We haven't found out what movies arjun is doing next year. But I worry for tevar as the movie is releasing on 5th December, which is a week after BV.both ranveer and arjun are doing good at the box office. More than the actors the movie itself is what matters.
I totally disagree that 2States had higher buzz than Gunday. Ranveer was coming fresh off the success of Ramleela, the songs were big hits, they did promotions like crazy, Valentine day release - the buzz was for a 100 crore movie if not more.
When 2States trailer came out everyone , even people on this board, wrote it off. The songs were luke-warm, Alia supposedly did not look the part, Arjun looked too 'low-energy" - so many downers.
Coming to future projects, I would bet for Tevar against KillDill anyday. DDD and BM have not even started to roll yet - so let's wait and see where that takes us.
