Not sure he is overhyped or not...but he is nothing special...average kind of actor ,will need to chose his scripts carefully to succed.

He is nothing special , kinda okay actor. I would say he is a sympathetic figure among Bollywood actors.

No he is not overhype.

SOTY kids are overhype. Not only them but ranbir Parineeti are also overhyped. Arjun is a good actor and is actually really underrated hopefully with 2 states he will get his due

The last debut that made me go wow, this one will go far was Ranveer. Sonakshi was a close second. I have not been impressed any other except Arjun and Pari. Ishaqzaade would not have been the same without the TWO of them, not just Pari for me.

My first thought when I saw Arjun was good screen presence, thank goodness he looks more like Anil and Sanjay than Boney and an angrier version of Anil on screen. He did not blow me away like Ranveer did, but hey Ranbir did not blow me away at first either. Then I heard about the whole losing weight thing, losing his mother and so on. I always discount personal life a lot, especially for a starkid who is handed a career. Sure he auditioned for Adi, but let's be honest, Boney Kapoor's kid, especially one who lost a lot of weight would carry weight with Adi (pun intended) than an outsider.

That said, I do have a soft spot for Arjun because he has not had the easiest life and I like that he is focused enough about his career that he can rise above that. Sure, he talks a lot about his mother, but I understand that, hopefully the questions and him talking decreases with time. The Salman thing comes across as ass licking, but I'd rather have an ass licker than an ungrateful person.

Arjun needs more focus especially with maintaining his weight, he really needs to face up to the issues he has with Sri. What Sri did was indefensible, but she was not the married one with two kids. Speaking of kids, he seems so close to Sonam, but he has difficulty acknowledging Jhanvi and Khushi as sisters. Hopefully he will come to a better place.

This has become one long ramble, but to end, I don't see him a superstar in a way Ranbir and Ranveer are to me, but he can have a pretty nice career like an Ajay or Akki or even Anil. He just has to play his cards right and work hard for I do think he has talent.
