Totally agree with you. Deepika comes from a higher middle class or more wealthy family. Prakash is a National Level Sportsman. He doesn't need any financial support from his girls far from it. Deepika is financially independent and if I am not mistaken she has been walking the ramp since she was in her teens.

And Katrina's family is definitely a different story.

Padukones are well to do, well-settled and they are all independent, but Prakash Padukone is not extreme wealthy not near to the cash our cricket legends earned. They had a simple and modest lifestyle. Over indulgence was strict no-no. I've read his wife would give only 5 rupees to their girls for weekly indulgence. Badminton and hockey never had big money like cricket or even tennis. When Indian Badminton League launched, Prakash expressed his happiness to see badminton players finally getting good money. For decent money back then, it was a must to get qualified and win international tournaments. Sports stars, minus the cricketers needed other business to lead wealthy lifestyle I think he invested in some business which was another source of income. Badminton and hockey players cannot depend on income from sports its a luxury for cricketers only.
