In some countries a sports star would be bigger deal or at least the same as a movie star.

Her family seems very grounded. DP has some of those qualities. Somehow I wish DP had become a great badminton player. Just a weird wishful thought.

I really enjoyed reading this interview...what I most related to was how Prakash Padukone said Deepika left home early and lives on her own...every other star lives with their family close to them...Deepika is one of the rare actresses who lives by herself..how come nobody or her overactive PR focuses on that aspect of her life? I live on my own and it's damn tough! There is too much of her relationship saga that people talk about...even when she got her own place it was all about how it was close to Ranbir's house or something!

Another comment...the PRs of these girls who are the bread earners of their families (like Deepika, Katrina) should stop focusing on their relationships and dating adventures and focus on how they are supporting their families. Otherwise it looks as if the ambitious girls are all about dating and making money- since South Asians are celeb obsessed, placing these girls on a positive light will inspire girls...families can see how girls can be their old age support!

Sure, definitely. The feeling is there but right now I need to sit down and decide whether the ambitious side of me is slightly more or whether the emotional side is greater. I do battle with that. I always saw myself doing what I am doing today, but there is also this side of me that wants to get married and start a family, wanting to have many kids and I know I will be good at that. Right now, if I feel that my ambition is largely controlling me then I should not be getting into that right now because I will want to give my 100% to that too. There is no end to wanting to achieve what you want to achieve. And there will come a day when I will stop enjoying my work and be tired and would want to move into the next phase of my life. But right now, I feel there is a lot more of quality work that I need to do and am not satisfied with whatever I have done so far.

I love this answer! She is level headed! 😃 I like how she says she needs to sit down and analyze her own self. It's a good quality to have. One must know what they want and go for it...not get swayed by others.

loved it
never knew anything about her father growing up , but he seems like a great man and very level headed too. And her parents seem to have great relationship. she has strong family which is always a great to fall back on working in bollywood.

Prakash Padukone... He was so cute when he was young...
Love how he is so down to earth and humble... Feels normal...
A good change from seeing the industry fathers praising their kids...

Deepika is definitely not supporting her family monetarily! Her father is very well known and does very well for himself. That's the reason he was able to retire so young.
