The preview of director Mohit Suri's return film Ek Villain', after last year's success Aashiqui 2', is already a hit online. The teaser which was released on April 3 has already crossed a million views on the web. The movie is being produced by Ekta Kapoor under the banner Balaji Motion Pictures.
According to reports, Tanug Garg, CEO, Balaji Motion Pictures tweeted, "The teaser of Ek Villain' has already crossed 1 million online views. Keep the love going.'"
Ek Villain' is a romantic thriller and apart from Sidharth and Shraddha, the movie also features Riteish Deshmukh in a negative role and has Kamaal Rashid Khan, who will be seen in a special appearance.
Ek Villain' is scheduled to release across theatres on June 27.
Mohit Suri began his career as an assistant director, and made his debut as a director with the movie Zeher' in 2005. Then he came up with Kalyug', which was quite a successful movie critically and commercially. His third movie was Woh Lamhe' in 2006 and received critical applause as well.
His next was Awarapan' in 2007 again a hit followed by the movie Crook' in 2010, which was based on the racial attacks on Indian students in Australia. His next Murder 2', a sequel to the 2004 film Murder', released on July 8, 2011, became a Blockbuster.
In 2013, he directed Aashiqui 2', which again proved to be a blockbuster.
Sidharth Malhotra, before making his debut in acting, worked as an assistant director to Karan Johar on his film, My Name Is Khan' in 2010. Sidharth made his debut in Johar's film Student of the Year' in 2012, together with Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. He received critical appreciation from critics for his performance.
Besides acting Sidharth supported charitable organisations and performed for stage shows, too. He is known to have performed at Filmfare awards, Screen, Stardust, and at an international event in Hong Kong with his co-stars Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt and also hosted Stardust Awards with Dhawan and Ayushmann Khurrana and a segment of Filmfare Awards in 2013.
He then became the brand ambassador of Coca Cola and Kwality Walls. He also appeared in a PETA ad creating awareness about dogs.
Shraddha Kapoor made her debut in the 2010 drama Teen Patti' beside such stars as Amitabh Bachchan, Ben Kingsley and R. Madhavan. Playing the role of a college girl in the film, her performance earned positive reception from critics.
