media and people can say what they like about kajol regretting KANK but she made it quite clear in many interviews tht she rejected KANK cos she didn't agree with the character of Maya.. even after changes were made to the character she just couldn't agree to it...and hence couldn't take up a role she didn't believe in. and I respect her for tht... she wasn't like other actresses who'd jump for this role jus becos big names like SRK, Big B were associated with it, she went with what she felt was right. KJo has many times tried claiming tht she only rejected KANK cos of her daughter being too young but its a load of bull... kajol has always said the character of maya was the reason she rejected the movie so I doubt she'd ever regret turning down a movie she didn't believe in

DTPH role was offered to numerous actresses n all rejected it becos of Madhuri...apparently insecurities.. Yash ji said that he approached many actresses and all turned the role down and eventually he signed Lolo and she was more than happy 2 do the movie cos it had Madhuri in it, and madhuri was lolo's fav.

ohh i so love this lady for rejecting veer zara, KANK, dil to pagal hain and mohabbatein.. c grade roles and lame films.. instead of KANK she did Fanaa..and we can make out the difference .. kajol rocks..🥳

and she never showed off for any of this

btw I don't think rejecting DTPH was a mistake- she knows her weakness and that's a good thing. Since DTPH revolved around dance and kajol cant dance to save her life- its wise on her part to let it go! and it was such a lame movie anyway!

She rejected these roles, because they're PERFORMANCE ORIENTED, not those typical SRK-Kajol romance which is she's good at! She had to literally ''ACT'' in these movies which she's NOT good at!

Kajol should thank SRK, because Kajol is what she is ONLY and mainly because of SRK! Without SRK her movies tanked, like Family, Toon Ka blah blah or U Me And Hum!

Kajol is a lovely actress...😃

wow I dont like DTPH, mohabbatein, 3 idiots had a lame role too! I read somewhere Kajol wanted to play Aamir's role in it! Its good she rejected those movies!

Who in their right sense can reject movies like KHAMOSHI, SHAKTI, VEER ZAARA, DIL SE, CHALTE CHALTE? They are strong performance oriented movies and were also success at the BO 😃

Whereas she accepted disasters like Toonpoor ka blah blah and U Me Hum 🤣

lol have you ever seen U Me Aur Hum - the role there was as challenging as the one's in few of those films, if not more. Also Khamoshi, Shakthi and Dil Se were box office bombs. Chalthe chalthe was a moderate success, so that leaves only Veer zaara as the one big success.

May be she could have done Khamoshi because she had lots of time on hand at that time otherwise all her other rejections are perfectly fine.

I have to say she made some good decisions.

Kajol took a long break after KKKG.And I guess she wouldn't work on KKKG if it was not Karan's film.So not doing Shakti,Veer Zaara,Chalte Chalte was surely due to that break she took to look after her daughter.

Not doing KANK was because she didn't like what Rani and SRK's character did.She directly said it to Karan that it was wrong so she didn't accept it.

She can't dance like Madhuri and Karishma so if she would have taken that role people would have said how can she took a role of a dancer!!!And that scene where Karishma and Madhuri dances together!It wouldn't have been believable.I myself found it difficult to accept the role of SRK being a dancer.Then I said to myself that he is a choreographer so if he isn't the best dancer,its ok.So it was a very wise decision made by Kajol.

In the year 1998,Dil se year,that was a great year for her.Pyar kiya to darna kay,pyar to hona hi tha,Kuch kuch hota hai also came that year.So probably she thought about commercial success.Those films were very entertaining.I watched Dil se just once because it was such a painful story.

3 Idiots and Mohabbatein didn't have any scope for lead actress.Thank God she didn't do both the movies.She did My Name Is Khan probably.

Khamoshi is the only movie she should have done.But I guess she has some problem working with SLB.

And the best part is she didn't brag about it ever it proves that she has no regrets not doing those films.And no regrets means you made the right choice and gave priority to other important things.
