Shah Rukh Khan turns down Karan Johar's 'Shuddhi'

Mumbai: Ever since Hrithik Roshan opted out of 'Shuddhi', Karan Johar was on the lookout for a leading hero for the project. In fact, he announced the release date of the film for 2015, on Twitter. Recently, rumours were abuzz, that Karan Johar did reach out to Shah Rukh and expressed his desire to start working together again. After all, it's been 5 years the two have collaborated on any project after 'My Name is Khan.'

According to rumours, Karan Johar asked Shah Rukh to do 'Shuddhi' and discussed his plans of shooting, and other logistics were put forward. Shah Rukh
, who has just started work on Yash Raj Films's 'Fan' and is currently shooting for Farah Khan's 'Happy New Year', took some time before getting back to him.

Rumour has it that the actor has now turned down the offer and the conversation took place over an e-mail. Though the exact details of the e-mail are not known, reportedly the actor politely said 'no' to work on the film.

There has been a lot of speculations about the rift between the two, but it is not clear what has led to the dent in their freindship. Meanwhile, after Kareena Kapoor also opted out of the film, buzz is that Deepika Padukone has been roped in as the leading lady.

Karan Johar is now in talks with another big star to do 'Shuddhi'.

All these articles r just confusing, so from this article it's saying Srk was offered but declined. And the articles about aamir do not say that he has been confirmed, they say Kjo wants aamir in the movie and it is yet to be seen if aamir accepts the offer.

At the gym exhibition ranveer was asked if he was doing shuddhi and his answer was 'I don't know, I haven't decided wat movies to do after zoyas next', if ranveer wasn't doing it then he wud have said no, so it seems to me that that the lead in shuddhi has not yet been finalised.
