I mean on one hand there is the whole industry, which has only people who love showing off their English skills. On the other hand you have Akshay, who has no problem admitting that he does feel uncomfortable conversing in English.

"After all, we're Hindi film stars. We earn our bread and butter from Bollywood. I'm uncomfortable talking in English..I've always been," Akshay said in a statement.

Personally I think most people posting those jokes are not trying to be disrespectful.

I haven't seen or heard them all but I think those jokes are more towards the personnel handling/mishandling the search.

But the truck joke with the license plate is disrespectful. Have to agree there.
