that just shows sridevi's class, like aamir khan, she is aamir khan of actresses, how she knew what will work and took a risk and succeeded, that also after 15 years, that what you call legend and reviving the legacy of indian cinema's most successful superstar.

Instead of films with message, flying in the air kicking butts...make simple films. Simple, good films have audience today. Gulab Gang had no target audience. English Vinglish and Queen worked because of its simplicity. Madhuri would have rocked Marathi lady in EV. She needs to choose her films better.

You actually think Madhuri has option to choose films!

People are commenting at her choices but she will choose when she will be provided with!

Let's face the truth, she is NOT IN DEMAND! She wants to work and wants to make a mark and that's why she is excepting offers through which she can do some work! Sridevi was lucky that Gauri came her to do film...

I think people should stop condoning her so much. She was an amazing actress , she was not a lifeless stick sized barbie doll like the ones nowadays. Her life and her substance was what made her beautiful to her audiences , she was a beautiful actor and an incredible dancer. She made her mark long ago.

Those people keep talkinng about dance numbers, every old actresses could dance, minakshree who was perhaps the most trained dancer, who was trained in 4 different classical dances, sridevi wasn't a trained dancer but she became accomplished bharatnatyam dancer as well as greatest character dancer, you was nagina, and you not watching sridevi dancing, but sridevi the cobra, and i was watching the zoom different style dance, and its sridevi who made modern era dance famous, she made saroj khan who was a nobody at the time a top most choreographer, she was given the package, but madhuri however took it to new heights by adding vulgarity and vulgar lyrics to the trend sridevi originally set which was sensual without being vulgar. Madhuri came up against karishma kapoor in DTH which was totally different to kathak, and karishma run rings around her.

Madhuri is simply overexposed and (either she or her PR) harps too much on her usual smile/dance stuff. No reinvention at all. Even if she does something different in a film she does not give audience any signal of doing something new as her promotional activities are all about smile, dance and her diva status.

Sridevi is the benchmark here for being choosy, not just working with established banners/names but also working with new people and completely reinventing herself. She chose a great film and also offered something different to audience apart from her past Sridevi-isms. The promotional campaign of EV was also more about the film and not paraphernalia about "The" Sridevi's comeback or harping on nostalgia of her heydays.

Even Juhi Chawla reinvented herself.

Whereas MD is same old. Cashing on smile or dance everywhere be it in ads or TV shows.

It's obvious for audience to get bored or give attention to her only if she does an item song like ghagra.

Bringing in comparisons from Forbes are useless. Even Aamir Khan is not in top 10 in that list but we know what his status is. Sridevi earns from her paintings too. She can also enter such lists if she agrees to attend every event, perform everywhere and appear as guest/judge on TV shows and sign up for all sorts of item songs, ads and roles out there plus do helluva lot of PR. But she doesn't do it. And the topic is on movies not so called earning lists. So such arguments are not of much use.

Madhuri needs to cut down on overexposure, reinvent herself on screen and her image otherwise. Her PR is also crazy...they rather make a joke of her by announcing her comeback every 4 years! She needs to select good scripts, work with new people than giving preference to established names. Offer something else to audience (everywhere - not just films but also promotional activity) - new facets to her talent.

It's good that other actresses aren't rushing in to sign every offer they get. I'd rather savour one English Vinglish than see Sridevi coming with all sorts of movies/shows/ads/item songs etc. etc. every other month. I even appreciate Aishwarya for the measured way in which she's handling her public appearances and endorsements post childbirth. Juhi's single minded focus on parallel cinema 5-6 years ago was also good - she did few solid films, won awards and did nice series of ads for one brand - Kurkure. It's a healthy balance without any overdose of that star for public.
Anyway, it's great that actresses of today do different kinds of work and do not just retire or start playing mom to their contemporary heroes. Earlier actresses found new avenues working in TV serials and theatre. Now they've started doing varied work in movies also - which is sign for better future for both actresses and their audience in future. More power to them and the filmmakers who make such films! 😊

INNOCENCE... I think u missed watching abodh, Parinda and Prahaar...

CRYING N BREAKDOWN... Clearly u missed watching Anjaam, Koyla, Mrityudand ...

where she was miles ahead in these two departments from Sri... and not to mention much natural, real, restrained and balanced that makes her acting very real, not ott and filmi like sri...and thats what makees madhuri not just the best daner but best performer of the hindi cinem screen...

and not to mention as we all know she is 100 times having a better personality and 1000 times a better human being than that delusional typical filmi devi

i can't rememer one memorable iconic performance, not 1 landmark role in her kitty, forget being best hindi performer, sri had surpassed it by constant trends setting, something that can be call the best ever performance of that genre. Sridevi has played diverse roles and she can do it all, she has played roles as lord krishna on krishna' childhood biopic, she has had 47 years of legendary status in different regions of cinema.
