This way almost everyone earns fans. I do not think anyone earns fans because of looks etc. Yes, looks, Image etc helps over all, but it never sustains. One has to be talented and give good performances and movies in order to get fans. For example, IK, Everyone loved for him looks and in his movie debut , but do people still love him? But we have RK, His image is worst, but because of his talent he is appreciated. At least, it is with my like this.

SRK, SK, Sona, PC,Sonam, Kareena, Vidya, Kajol, Karishma, RS, Peity, are the ones for me. . Not just through acting, but over all too. Except SRK, Kajol, and Karishma whom I liked from their first movies itself. I did not like any of the others. I disliked almost all of them. But Now I love SK, Sona, PC, Sonam, Kareena, Vidya, RS, and Preity too.

As for only acting, then RK and Aamir.

Nice topic Blue!

Apart from Ranveer, who certainly earned his stardom and fandom the hard way (there are many who absolutely detest him on the forum now also😆), there is Vidya Balan, who was also mocked here and many place else, till she did Paa, Kahani, TDP etc. and earned recognition both as an actor and one who has starpower at the BO!

Deepika had her share of long term fans from the very start (I think her association with SRK helped...fans of SRK normally tend to like the girls he acts with!), but off-late, there have been many additonal fans who have joined her fandom after her back to back BB's last year!

I would like to believe that Alia too has gathered some amount of admirers after Highway, which ofcourse, has been reversed because of a certain over-praising husband and wife duo!😡

Sonakshi earned a lot of her fans after Lootera! People who completely dismissed her till then, started to love her after her role in the film! Though sadly, unlike Veer, she hasn't been able to sustain the momentum and build on the fanbase!

This is all I can think off, though if you make a topic on all those who lost their fans, I am guessing the list would be much bigger!😆

I think everyone earns fans- some earn it bcos of hype, some bcos of looks, some bcos of personality, some bcos of their acting and so on. Of course, the loyalty varies depending upon the reason why they became fans in first place- like hype lasts only for sometime, but if you like someone for their personalityor work it might last longer. But overall, its still 'earning' fans. Reason chahe Kuch bhi Ho. You dont get 'ready made fans' on a platter, like I read in one thread that Ramcharan teja got a readymade fan following in the south as his father's fan base shifted to him while his father retired. So far I havent seen that type of thing in bollywood.

Anyone who isn't really that pretty or good looking (according to Indian standards of beauty) has to work harder than the conventional good looking ones to gain a fan base. So mostly all the actors who isn't conventionally considered as good looking will earn a fan base based on his talent/personality I guess.

I hate to say this, but alia 😆 Atleast for me, I used to hate her because I did not like her acting and thought she was a kid .. I had even mentioned that in a thread .. 😆 I remember a member 'Kulfibai' had told me to give her a chance again but i wasnt sure ..

But highway and 2 states promo changed that!! She was really good in highway like really good !! :D And she CAN deffo act now! She has improved .. So alia!! She has earned a fan in me !!
