Abhishek's an excellent comedic actor. I'm not sure Arjun has that talent.
Abhishek also has some strong dramatic roles behind him like Guru and Yuva.
see what happened...when abhishek's udaan in bollywood was announced, big b's die hard bhakts were ready with hoardings and aatish baarish ...all ready to make him THE next BIG B.
yuva and guru.. you give these movies/roles to actors like manoj bajpai and nawazuddin ..hah they will shed abhis acting in pieces.
in yuva...abhi was flabby. his tummy rolls were evident. you can tell..he is not as strong as big b. right away one can tell he is more of mummys laadla than dirty daddys. and worse he aped his daddy which at times was laughable. ratnam tried his best to make him next big b but hah not even his shadow.
guru...its his weight - or say look that got more taalis than his performance. yes he had moments, good moments, but he wasn't explosive. to me it was more labored. the BIG impact was missing. no wonder after that movie he didn't really grab attention. even both yuva and guru were not big hits.
biggest mistake with abhishek.. everyone wanted him to be another big b. bowl us with action, romance, dances, the angry man act, like ur father, THE superstar. but i think abhishek was more of his mummy side...his mum never did big movies, glamorous roles, she stayed in her comfort zone BUT scored big with her heartwarming performances.
how i wish abhi followed his mummys path...he could have become a respected actor.
