I have done the same thing lately...😆 Stopped following most interviews and media appearances by the stars. There is such a huge differnce when you don't follow a star's personal life and then watch their films...one can be much more objective about a film and about an actor's real calibre when we don't know or don't care about what they do in their personal life.

I might have felt differently about Alia had I seen her interviews or her apperances on television, but I just saw the film and I saw this wonderful young actor able to give such a nuanced and sensitive peformance.

Now I don't give a damn whether Alia was snooty towards Randeep or that she is a dumb bimbo. As long as she keeps doing films like Highway and keeps giving performances like she did as Veera, I am sold on her!

Alia is good and she improved compared to soty, but that don't mean she Is above all established actresses. Overrating is also bad.

Comparisons are inevitable and hype is associated with every good performance nowadays.No one here had any issues when Parineeti in HTP got compared to Sri in Sadma,DP to Madz after RL and Sona to waheeda Rehman after Lootera


Another point, whats wrong if some Kareena fans started appreciating Alia? Always like actresses with lots of spunk,ease and spontaneity onscreen than the boring ones who are as interesting as watching paint dry.I like Sonakshi,Anushka too.My liking has got nothing to with Alia being a bebo fangirl.

This topic happened solely because of the accolades Alia received for Highway. The TM begins by complaining about the hype and then stating that Alia's acting sucks, and the Highway performance sucks too. So this topic was very much about Highway and her acting in it. Just because the TM did not like the performance she seems to want to tack on everything about Alia to the topic.

Then again she can do whatever she wants. She doesn't give explanations.

Did you read that I wrote ONLY in big letters...Its not just about Highway...its about Alia's personality and her off screen persona too...and I don't get the logic behind saying that...we are discussing Alia because of the hype surrounding Highway...Of coure ...by God we are doing it exactly because of that...Why do u think that Ranbir's or deepika's or Katrina's or for that matter anyone's off screen life gets discussed here???
