These two consider it beneath them to watch Hindi movies, Kareena thinks Saif belongs in Hollywood, She is not in Bollywood to make friends. It is this constant refrain of implicit and explicit messages that they consider themselves far more superior than the rest of the cattle class. The audience has also probably picked up on this disdain and have started rejecting both their movies with a vengeance.

@Bold:
That makes no sense because - Most of the audiences watching films don't give a damn about celeb statements. How many surf Bollywood sites on a daily basis to keep track? Of the Indian population? I assure you, less than 20%
B) She looks down on Indian films? Just coz she enjoys another country's cinema? She looks down on her own country's talent?
"Yes, I am shooting an ad with the crew that did the ads for Eva Mendes and Eva Longoria. Their style of working is very different from our own very talented ad-makers." - Kareena
She clearly said a couple of months ago at the red carpet of an award show that now that she has more time, she can finally catch up on all the GREAT films being made in Bollywood. And that she and Saif have decided to take a bunch of DVDs with them on their holidays.
C) She's not in Bollywood to make friends because she doesn't believe leading actresses CAN be friends due to competition. How is that related to inferiority superiority?

Since none of us live inside Bebo or Saif's head we are all going to interpret their actions and statements according to the way it most fits our sense of logic. I feel, and going by this and other posts on this board many others do too, the way i wrote in my first post about her sense of superiority and arrogance. Someone else might feel differently. Completely their choice.

Then why did she say I don't belong in Hollywood?
IF she clearly has a preference of Hollywood and feels it's better, why distinctly say, It's not for me. It's for Saif.
Explain?
Pardon.

Interpret.
Because, are you trying to say that arrogant Kareena with a superiority complex feels that she's NOT GOOD ENOUGH for something, if indeed Hollywood is the "SUPERIOR" platform.
Why would she put herself down to Bollywood? In which case she's criticizing herself, so where is the arrogance?
Your theory runs into contradiction here.

One's accent is similar to HW's...so one will be more suitable actor there...Wow!! Although I still don't feel he has any accent from Hollywood actually...he speaks english well, his pronunciation is good, unlike most of the stars from India, its not fake...but still its not same...
and the main thing...why doesn't he go then?? It would be so better...and may be he can take kareena too with him.

His accent is NOT from Hollywood. He grew up in British, how is that equated to Bollywood?
Did Kareena say saif should go to Bollywood coz of his accent?
Or is that YOUR thought?
Let's clarify here. Who said anything about accent? Kareena? Me? or you?

and it does not resembles british accent at all...!! I mean where is the similarity...?
about accent you said it, that because he's a different accent, he should go there...
and I'm serious when I say this, if she thinks that he'll do there better then they should pack their bags and try his luck their..I'm sure with the international icon by his side, he'll do great.

Feeling superior above others in Bollywood doesn't mean that she is dumb enough not to recognize her severe lack of articulation, coherence and vocabulary in English language. I am sure she thinks she is oscar worthy otherwise. Didn't you just write that you cannot imagine Akshay in HW, mouthing English dialogues? Same way with Kareena.

I understand that people have disdain pertaining to Kareena and Saif in general, so unless they're saying shit about themselves or criticizing themselves, most of their statements will be used against them.

Yes, Kareena says the dumbest things sometimes, but it's unfair that an opinion is taken and thrown at her face with so much disdain.
Especially an opinion that I believe is a legit one. If people didn't know this was coming from Kareena Kapoor, and people knew nothing of Saif Ali Khans' personal life or any statements he made, people WOULD agree with the fact that Saif is better suited to English movies than most actors.
Not coz of some stupid superiority complex.
Not coz of the accent (that's dumb, as if all Hollywood actors have an American accent)
But coz of the culture he grew up in and the language he is most comfortable with (LANGUAGE, NOT ACCENT)
Why is it that Saif rose with the URBAN COOL DUDE roles?
Why is it that Saif was completely rejected in the 90s in those hardcore desi movies?
Why was his rise with a film like DCH that in many ways was a contemporary urban, multiplex style of film-making?
Why do directors like Tigmanshu Dhulia constantly say that the biggest challenge for Saif in Bullett Raja was to correct his body language which naturally is very urban and English?
Or Vishal Bharadwaj saying that it was a challenge to take Saif and throw him into an element that was so opposite of his persona?
Why is it such a big deal if Kareena voices an opinion that is NOT putting anyone else down, that is NOT derogatory or spiteful in any way? I understand getting annoyed with her when she used to say she doesn't have time to watch Hindi films, even her own. But how is this bad?
