THE STORY
Insiders say Nadia, who is part Indian and part Afghan, was involved with Sanjay much before his wife Rhea came into the picture. Their relationship allegedly continued even after his marriage. No one knows how and where the two met but apparently, Nadia was almost obsessed with the actor. "She was very persistent and would follow him wherever he went, even during his shoots," says a source.
The press got wind of the affair when it emerged that Sanjay was meeting a lady secretly at a famous seven-star hotel where she was put up. It was never proved but her bills were allegedly taken care of by Sanjay.
At the height of their romance, a well-known magazine published a story in which they had obtained details of the couple's love nest in a seven-star hotel. During the course of their investigations, they realised that the entire staff of the hotel was put on high alert to ensure Sanjay and Nadia's privacy was not disturbed. When a reporter asked a staffer about the extra security, he blurted out, "Because of the foreign lady' being put up in room 1121 on the 11th floor..."
Yet another hotel staffer provided even more details. "Woh Sanjay Dutt aata hai usko milne ko isiliye sab bandobast hai!" (Sanjay Dutt comes to visit her, hence these arrangements have been made).
On another occasion, Sanjay and Nadia were found busy lunching at the hotel's Chinese restaurant! Sanjay, clad in black, looked extremely relaxed, while Nadia was heard speaking in chaste Urdu! The next day too they were spotted at the same venue thus proving beyond doubt that they indeed shared a special relationship.
WHILE THE AFFAIR was going on, Sanjay was married to Rhea Pillai who had supported him throughout his trials and tribulations. When she discovered the alleged affair, she was naturally shocked but insiders say she decided to forgive the indiscretion. A close friend sums up the messy triangle, "Nadia may have loved Sanjay, but Rhea was his soulmate. Sanjay promised to break up with Nadia but if he didn't, she said she would leave him."
It was during the shoot of Kaante that matters reached a head. Sanjay was in the US for a week-long schedule and an obsessed Nadia apparently landed there! When Rhea was informed of this, she was allegedly livid. Later, Sanjay was also reportedly caught with a top actress he was working with.
A few months down the line, Nadia walked out of his life just as mysteriously as she had entered it. By then, his relationship with Rhea too had reached a dead-end and the couple decided to separate.

Madhuri Dixit
Despite never admitting to it, Madhuri and Sanjay were said to be seeing each other quite seriously. They allegedly broke up after he was arrested under TADA.

Speculations were rife that he was seeing Tabu at one point.
CURRENT STATUS
Sanjay Dutt is married to Maanyata and has twins (Shahraan and Iqra) from her. Earlier this year, Sanjay surrendered before the designated TADA court to serve his three-and-a-half year sentence in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case and is currently serving a jail term in Yerawada Jail in Pune. There is, however, no news on Nadia and her whereabouts. Rhea Pillai is married to tennis star Leander Paes though there were rumours of them separating a few months ago.
