No..Aish is known around the globe and dont think any Indian actress has ever been able to match up to her international popularity

As for acting,I will rate them equally...I dont find them consistent like Madhuri,Kajo,Rani etc...they excel in certain roles under good directors...But Aish has a diverse filmography..Kandukondein,Choker baali,RainCoat,HDDCKS,Devdas,Guru,Taal...Deepika hasnt outperformed her yet...maybe in coming yrs..

When it comes to dancing hands down Aish..she,Madhuri and Madhubala are the best dancers of BW !..Deepika is a very average dancer...she is nor skilled neither trained

Last but nt the least I like DP's offscreen personality so much better than Aish's..she seems warm,honest and humble !!

Yeah Deepika is better than Ash in acting department...Now i agree Deepika PR sucks. Ash filmography is nothing great...As an actress in BW she is dime a dozen. I can name 20 actors in BW who are/were better than her.

Ash is more known for her Miss World and David letterman interview along with Cannes appearance. Ash is more famous in western world than in India...she is an after thought in BW. As a model she is great though.

From 1997 till 2003, Aishwariya Rai did about 18 films (excluding special appearances). And within those 6 years, she had three absolutely HUGE films: HDDCS, Taal, and Devdas. And that's not including other hit films where she received immense recognition (in awards form) and dared to challenge herself in terms of her acting (choker bali). By that time, she was already on a roll.

From 2006-2013, Deepika did about 17 films (excluding special appearances). And within those 7 years, she had about 3 pretty bigs as well: YJHD, CE, and Ram Leela. (but honestly, they don't even come close to Devdas and its impact) And yes she has had other hit films as well. However, she hasn't exactly challenged herself in terms of her acting (maybe cocktail?) and her recognition level isn't as great as ARB.

If anything, I think Deepika is at the same place Aishwariya was in 1999. In 1999, Aish had two hits, Taal and HDDCS. In 2013 Deepika had three hits. If Deepika manages to continue this career high she's been experiencing, then I think she could potentially manage to eclipse Aish. However, if she doesn't then I don't think so. Honestly, it just depends on the uncoming days/ years I think. But she's definitely on the right track.

However, speaking in favour of Deepika, she's already managed to pass many of her contemporaries: Sonam, Sonakshi, Anushka, etc. She's passed on to Kareena's league and is now competing with the higher dogs. (Aish is in an even higher league) So Kudos to her!

Deepika has managed to give more super hits and bigger hits than Ash has in her lifetime. And Deepika did not have flowerpot roles in those movies. She was not just the lucky mascot.She acted well in those movies.

YJHD, RL, CE in one year...well you just can't compare that with any actress in BW.

Ash had 1-2 good years in BW...she got hammered by the likes of Kajol, Rani, PZ...

The answer would be a resounding no. Because if one could surpass Ash with a slew of hits, Katrina would've done it long time back. We have to see Deepika doing a Chokher Bali, Raincoat, Provoked, Guru, Kandukondain before you can compare her with Ash.

I'd say she has achieved about 20% of what Ash has. She will reach Ash's level if she can sustain her 2013 success for at least 7-8 more years. And that's no cakewalk.

Aishwarya is a very unique star. Rohan Sippy always said she was bigger than her movies. Even someone like a Madhuri who was a craze in her day and is a legend today, Ash is something different from her.

As for acting , i never found Aish that much special , Deepika has improved a lot in the last 2 years.

Aishwarya has mainly beauty to her credit. All her popularity and international achievements are due to beauty.

Why do people say she became something without Khans? Her biggest films HDDCS, Devdas, Mohabbatein are with Khans only. The Khan films got her attention!
And that affair with Salman gave her more limelight than anything else.

Deepika has more clout at BO than Aishwarya ever had. Acting wise she's improving and will do even better if she keeps going the way she's going.

Few offbeat films that Aishwarya did are no big deal. How many give credit to Rani for Black or Preity for Heaven on Earth? Deepika will also do challenging acting projects and match up on that count.

She may not surpass international beauty titles/achievements but will be a better and well rounded Bollywood superstarni in future if she continues to play her cards well.
