Dhoom 3 Saturday (Day 2) Box Office Collections

Aamir Khan's Dhoom 3 has emerged as the biggest money-spinner of all time - not just at the domestic box office, but also in the overseas markets where it has beaten Shahrukh Khan's Chennai Express.

In India, the film showed little or no drop on Saturday which is simply phenomenal considering the fact that the Friday opening was huge. Most big films tend to show drops on Day 2, especially at single-screens. But with Dhoom 3, the drop was negligible. In fact, quite a few centres put up better numbers on Saturday.

Dhoom 3 Saturday Collections

The film has collected around Rs 71 crore in 2 days (including all versions) and looking at the early morning trends on Sunday (packed houses all over) the film is certain to cross the 100 crore mark this evening. Dhoom 3 is also likely to be the first film to do business in excess of 40 crore on a single day.

First weekend business could touch 110 crore, including the dubbed versions. Tuesday is a holiday in parts of the country and Wednesday is a national holiday for Christmas.

However, the word-of-mouth is mixed. While some have absolutely loved the film for its action sequences, Aamir's performance and Katrina's dance moves.. the reports coming in from circuits like Mysore and even from a few mass-circuits is extremely mixed, as expectations of strong content is unrealistically high when it comes to Aamir Khan films.

Unless there is a massive drop in business on Monday, Dhoom 3 is set to emerge as the highest grosser of all time. And while doing so, the film should also break all the various records held by Chennai Express and Krrish 3.

• Saturday - 35-36 crore (estimates, actuals at 4PM)
• Total Collections - 71-72 crore in 2 days

After hitting near Rs 30-crore mark on its first day,Dhoom 3 is headed for a smooth sail at the weekend. The Aamir Khan-starrer did witness a marginal dip in collections during the morning and afternoon shows today but distributors believe the evening and night shows will pick up and the film will reel in around Rs 24 crore.

Advance booking for Dhoom 3 was very good and the movie is seeing 80-per cent occupancy, all-India and Mumbai, today. All-India, the film will do business of over Rs 24 crore today, and in Mumbai Rs 6-7 crore. The morning shows were a little dull but the evening shows have picked up.

Brijesh Tandon, H K Tandon and Company, Delhi-UP

The morning and afternoon shows of Dhoom 3 saw a dip in collections compared to yesterday, which was a non-holiday in Delhi, especially. But the film is doing extraordinary business in UP. Today, the film will probably reel in around Rs 4 crore.

Jaspal Dhingra, Nanaskar Enterprise, East Punjab

Dhoom macha rakhi hain Aamir Khan ne... The best thing about this film is that it's a family entertainer and the audience has been flocking to cinemas thanks to advance booking. This movie will enjoy a good run at the ticket counter. Collections today should clock in Rs 2.25 crore and they might grow depending on how the night shows fare.

Debashish Dey, Aum Moviez, West Bengal

Dhoom 3 has drawn an extraordinary response in West Bengal, where the morning shows are 80 per cent full. The evening shows are, once again, witnessing 100-per cent occupancy. This is an Aamir Khan film and everyone loves it. The movie has set a first day record today and will earn approximately Rs 1.25 crore.

Ravi Machhar, Sahyog Films, Nizam

Dhoom 3 reeled in Rs 4.61 crore in Nizam on day one, a first-ever for any film. Today, the film is holding pretty strong and will earn close to Rs 3 crore.

Jeetu Khandelwal, Movie Pioneers, Orissa

Aamir Khan is king and he alone is drawing the audience to cinemas, to watch him in a never-seen-before avatar. Today, the film will do business of Rs 25 lakh as the morning and afternoon shows saw a slight drop in collections. Tomorrow's collections will approximate those of the first day.

B H Basha, Bahar Enterprise, Mysore

Dhoom 3 is doing very good business today in Mysore, where occupancy is 80 per cent. Today, the film will cose at Rs 2.5 crore.

Ajay Bagbai, Rajvi Trade Link, Gujarat

Dhoom 3 is creating waves but today there was a big drop in the morning shows but collections are likely to grow with the evening and night shows. In Gujarat, the film will reel in Rs 3.5 crore today.
