D3 Review
Minus points
I'll start with the minus points of the film. I found the action sequences of the movie to be no different than the other Dhooms. There was nothing innovative or great about them. And I personally am getting tired of the whole "bike flying in slow motion mid-air thing", they've done that approximately 200 times in the movies and after a certain point you kind of hope and pray that you choke on your popcorn.
I found Abhishek to be very lazy on-screen, as if he kind of gave up and is not trying at all. He looked really bad and worn out. Uday was better, but his jokes were not that funny, infact I think its time for these two to be replaced if they want to make a Dhoom4, I just don't see any use for them anymore, the moment has passed.
Another minus point I found was the execution of the story. The so called twist, was alright, it wasn't shocking or even interesting to me. Infact, I figured out the "twist" 30 mins before it was revealed (I didn't even read online spoilers) 😆 If it took you 6-7 years to come up with Dhoom-3, We expect a lot more. I found everything about the movie to be lazy and uninspiring, as if they kind of just came up with anything just to make the movie.
Another minus point that I will state, that has been said here before as well, the "style" of Dhoom was missing. The glamour, the fun...the Dhoom...it was very lacking and the movie was too serious. Suddenly Dhoom became kind of like a TV Serial 😆
Aamir's tap dancing was very awkward. It looked like an old man stomping 😕 Also, Katrina and Aamir had zero chemistry.
Now the plus points
Def Aamir Khan. One of his best performances that will be remembered for a while. It was surely his show, although to be honest he is very pale in comparison to Hrithik in every aspect.
The Kamli Song, 😲 WHOA, I live in Canada and over here nobody really claps or whistles but when this song finished it was the second time I have seen people actually cheer and clap (the first time was Aishwarya in Dhoom2) Katrina may not have a role, infact, she is barely in the film. But this song is a testament to her talent, and I can confidently say she is the best dancer in Bolllywood right now. Ya, she may not be able to do what Madhuri or Ash can do,...but they also have NO CHANCE of doing what Katrina has done (which requires more effort, talent and skill)
Its sad Kat has no role, because the 2 scenes she was in (Yes 2 scenes, if you don't include the songs she has a total screen time of maybe 5 minutes) she was actually acting very well. But on a positive side, it was her name that contributed to get audiences to come in and Kamli will surely stay in peoples mind. Her screen presense stays with you but she def needs to make better choices. Sadly I think even Esha had a bigger role than Katrina in the first Dhoom 😭
Sadly, besides Kamli and Aamir's acting, I found nothing great in the movie, I am huge Katrina fan, Huge Dhoom fan, but this was seriously a HUGE disappointment, some of the portions I actually wanted to sleep and leave.
I would give this a 3/10
I don't know why, I just cant get over Dhoom-2 and how iconic and epic Hrithik-Ash were (together and individually) , yeah some people hated Ash's acting but you kind of miss her when you see Dhoom-3, its just too stale and kind of...cold to compare to the hotness that was Dhoom2.
