Film should take decent to good start due to Prabhu Dheva factor but recent record of Shahid at box office raises few doubts. So overall it will be a good opening but film will be heavily dependent on word of mouth especially among masses.

Synopsis:

Wednesday, 4th December 01:40 PM IST

Plot:

Rajkumar (Shahid Kapoor) is an aimless youth who works for a drug baron named Shivraj (Sonu Sood). His latest mission is to kill a rival dealer named Manik Parmar (Ashish Vidyarthi). But Rajkumar's life changes forever when he claps eyes on the beautiful, educated Chanda (Sonakshi Sinha).

What he doesn't know is that Chanda is an orphan who's been raised by her uncle - Manik Parmar! After some persistent wooing, Chanda falls for Rajkumar's charms. But in order for their love to flourish, he must destroy the drug cartel to which both Shivraj and Parmar owe allegiance, which is controlled by a Mafia don named Ajit Taaka (Srihari), who operates out of Malaysia.And back to marry with Chanda.

Music:

The album soars high with its boisterous tapori songs and makes itself worth your time. Gandi Baat' is the stand out track of the album though it is strongly contested by Mat Maari' and Saree kefall sa'. Kaddoo Katega' and Dhokha Dhadi' don't hold your attention for long. Overall, this album has enough exuberance to last you a couple of weeks -almost a silver jubilee equivalent for our times!

R Rajkumar movie review

There is certain substance, which moviegoers are seeking in current masala flicks. Last week's release Bullett Raja was one flick that got mixed reviews but giving a last verdict, it has those certain elements, which made this drama a better masala flick if not a complete entertainer.

Prabhu Deva who recently gave a disaster with the Ramaiya Vatsavaiya' has balanced himself with R Rajkumar, which has the quantum of energy to just not disappoint the masala movie goers.

Though screenplay lacks many things and you will criticise the execution of the events, which reels on the screen tapping your heads but still undoubtedly you will favour the level of maturity that Shahid has gained in his act with this flick where he plays Rajkumar.

He works for drug dealer Shivraj (Sonu Sood) and makes his job easier in making deal following his next assignment to kill Manik Parmar (Ashish Vidyarthi), an another drug dealer. But here our Rajkumar finds himself in the midst of the entrepreneur and ladylove Chanda (Sonakshi Sinha) who is raised by Manik. To deal with the situation and to protect his love, Raj has to put an end to this drug mafia.

Prabhu Deva after Rowdy Rathore makes a descent comeback as an action director with this flick, which has its moments of laughter dose and crunchy combative sequence.

Ditch the content which isn't concrete here. The broken love story has its flaws but trust, Pradhu delivers the ultimate outcome i.e., entertainment.

He serves the blossoming romance between Shahid and Sonakshi particularly during the course when Shahid follows her blatantly despite she neglects his innocence. It pinches you to chuckle if not fully flex your facial muscle.

The director submerges the amusing romance with a strong dose of action and Shahid is one such surprise, which controls this action production. His height isn't a concern to pair up with slightly taller Sonaskhi who is weightier than him. He is short in height but is also short-tempered enough to bring any baddies down to his knees.

Sonakshi Sinha who loves to be featured in such flicks once again plays her part well. Sonu Sood who is expert in portraying a baddie in action flicks once again is brilliant in his act.

Music by Pritam is good while the background score by Sandeep Chowta jells well to the scenes.
