@ Red, you didn't understand what I meant. I said that it is very easy to be talked about and hyped up in this industry when you deliver a hit. For example people are wagging their tongues at Deepika now cuz she gave 4-5 hits in a row which is great...but can she sustain her stardom if she gave 3 or 4 flops in a row? I doubt it...best example of that is Vidya.

@ Blue, its just a matter of time before Katrina's time ends as well. Her popularity has already decreased a bit and is not as the peak it was during 2009-2011.

I actually agree with Shaitan-Haiwan on those two highlighted points.
1) It's not very hard to give a hit in the commercial genre. There is a lot of effort there too, but the risk involved is relatively less. Also, actresses don't give hits most of the time, they are just a part of it.

2) Season as in shelf life, actresses like Raveena and Preity have had relatively long shelf lives too, but they or their roles are hardly remembered.

It all depends on Kareena and how she plays her cards really.

I've always said that stars like Kareena will be out of work when THEY decide so. If Kareena keeps on signing garbage based on her ''moods'' then the chick will be on her way out. I love her, but she's being so stupid and naive about her career right now. I agree that she has nothing to prove to anyone at this point about her star power and talent, but this is her job. Is she content with what she's achieved? Does she not want more? Does she not want to tap out the talent in her more? is this IT? NO, Kareena!! Please wake up and start pushing yourself. It's one thing to balance out your professional career and personal life but not at the expense of the former.

Did she even read the scripts of Satyagraha and Gori Tere Pyaar Mein? What did she find interesting in those films AND characters? They were both bad films and didn't give her ANY scope to perform. At this stage of her career, when she has the chance to show people that a married actress can still be on top, it saddens me to see her take her career for granted.

Maybe she should start watching more Hindi films to realise the difference between good and bad cinema. If she wants to rise from this setback, she should start taking herself and her career seriously. Read the scripts, consult your friends, look for more depth in your roles and films. STOP relying on big banners and ''popular'' co-actors. Start trusting yourself, your capabilities and your star power.

In short, she can definitely bounce back if she makes the right choices and starts thinking differently.

the audience does get bored after seeing one actress hang around for as long as 14 years. everyone eventually has to graduate. kareena once upon a time was where the new girls are today. and the cycle shall continue.

i find kareenas statements to be insulting because at the end of the day its for the AUDIENCE and really has very little to do with her comfort. she can be comfortable all she wants in her home, but at work u need to perform to earn ur keep. shes forgetting shes not 25 anymore and she wont get endless chances to bounce back especially whne you have new promising takent thats improving their talent by the film.

GTPM and SAT were her desperation projects. womans bat crazy to be working with the likes of Imran. hes poison..can.not.act,

I think the problem is that the media is overhyping other certain actresses, which may seem like Kareena is in a low-phase, but that is surely not the case.

She is more relevant right now than Vidya Balan...Vidya was on top for 2-3 years and right now OVERALL Kareena is still ahead of her and considered to be more popular and in demand.

Besides, both Kareena and Aishwarya have been rare examples of actresses who have withstood their star power despite churning out flop films...IMO that is more of an achievement. Its very easy to give a hit film and get all excited and have the media lick your feet...the challenge is in giving a flop film but then still maintaining yourself...Vidya couldn't maintain her popularity after a big flop and to be honest...the same will happen with Deepika and Katrina, these girls are not legendary or big actresses...they are just flavor of the seasons...

That's YOUR opinion, Aishwarya still appears on some Top 10 lists besides the fact that she hasn't actually acted in movie for 2-3 years. Ofcourse there are lots of people who "care" she is one of the most popular actresses in India. That's not something that is debtable, even now she makes one appearance and everyone goes crazy.

Just because YOU do not like her, and YOU do not care about her comeback, that has no relevance or importance on REALITY. I just used her as an example that despite her several flops she was still on Top. Just like Kareena, who may not have had a hit, but she's still up there.

I think people are excessively harsh to Kareena suddenly. She needed a reality check but she is not over. Shuddhi can change the game. 👍🏼

GTPM's failure hopefully might put some sense in her head making her sign the kind of films she should be signing.

She should give up on 100 crore club flicks, male superstars as hero and big production houses. Get yourself powerful characters to play Kareena.

My guess is, quiet a few of the criticism is coming from disappointment, which is fair.

Kitkataha for instance admired (s?) Bebo as an actress, so she's just disappointed.

Shuddhi, who knows when it will start. Maybe in a year or two.
Emraan film is pretty much shelved, at best its delayed indefinitely.
And Dev Benegal, lets just say is no Shyam Benegal. His films are what I would call " Trying too hard to be smart" cinema.

I don't think she's done, but this debacle will affect her. No chance Ekta greenlights the Emraan film now, if there ever was any chance of that happening in the first place. Shuddhi's budget will be rethought of and nobody cares about Dev Benegal.
