Also there really wouldn't be any chemistry with her and ranveer, her and Imran don't even have chemistry. And she would have been very awkward in the scenes with him and it wud have shown.
Also leela is supposed to look like a teenager, kareena definatley does not look young.

So basically she just would have wrong as leela

And RL was promoted mostly based on the Ranveer-DP affair😆 No lovaria interview, no questions on their alleged affair, no nothing if Bebo was a part of it😆

It's like how she did that appearance in Rowdy Rathore. It's coz she is very close to Shabina Khan, who is co-producing it with SLB.

Firstly, the buzz is NOT due to Deepika alone. You have a hot young pairing creating buzz.

It's like the buzz Aashiquie 2 had. Will you like to tell me that ARK (only 2 film old) had insane starpower? Or Shraddha?

SLB has a following. THe films he creates are on a giant scale and instantly hook the viewer. In the past, he kept messing up coz he made darker films.

This time he was determined with more color.

YES, Dpad and Ranveer NAILED IT. But the vision was SLB's.

Stick Deepika in Aarakshan, with them B grade trailers, then "I'll agree with her having insane starpower 😆

I dont know, but she definitely wouldnt have put in all the hard work dpad put it (part of the reason I think she bailed, when SLB told her he needs an extra 50 days of prep) 😆

So overall, no, I dont think the result would have been the same. This is the type of role that require a lot of prep work and hard work.
