I don't think that is the solution. In fact the way these trade sites work is similar to TAM. They take a sample size (centers) and then see how the movie is performing there and then interpolate or extrapolate figure based on that.

TRP is another controversial matter. Questions can be raised there too.😃 Nobody does that till now because there is only one dominant rating agency unlike many trade sites.

Really ...pretty fair means nothing...EITHER ONE IS FAIR or UNFAIR...the pretty fair, almost fair, little fair, more fair , less fair is all play of words...that's it...

Its obvious that the accurate data is very very tough to measure. More so in a country like India. But atleast for TRPs every channel accepts what TAM gives. We should aim for the same in BO figures too. Atleast every channel doesnt out their own TRP and claim to be no.1.

OK they ARE fair. Its the way they interpret it that makes the difference. Like for CE they downplayed that it had done better in non-traditional areas which isnt the case for other highest grossers. For YJHD they hyped everything. For K3 also they have been praising its performance.
Calling producer's figures correct blindly is like we writing an exam and giving marks to ourselves. Teachers are humans, will make mistakes, have biases...but teachers are needed to give marks to see where we stand.

Then they are not fair...If they don't have the same criterion for everyone...if they are subjective and not objective ...they are not fair...When it comes to numbers...there shouldn't anything left to imagination or my perception vs. ur perception...because they are dealing with numbers and not poetry...Can there be two perspectives on whether 2+2=4? If not then the numbers and verdict of BOI shouldn't be open to perceptions...If Taran or the PHs are manipulating figures...so is BOI according to its favorites...They are as fair or unfair as anyother source...

its more for your love for SRK, anyone can see that 😆 right now the site is being exposed, I am relieved that many of the blockbusters have been declared 'semi-hits' by BOI which is pretty awful. The one being 'Rangeela' which i still remember was declared a super duper success in 1995 in all tabloids is just declared semi-hit is beyond me. Semi-hit is almost above average and not even a pure success, i love what indicine said to the end that one should stick to one source, its people's own choices what they follow, but now when it has been termed unfair at some...can someone argue over a film's status on BOI, especially the ones who don't follow it. I DOUBT IT
