"Krrish 3 is having a fantastic run at Box office considering the huge number of audience it garnered on the weekend. With Monday being a holiday, the film may set a new record for a single day collection. It is only the third film after Ek Tha Tiger and Chennai Express to have collected over Rs 30 crore in a single day," said Suniel Wadhwa, Box office analyst and independent distributor.

The good run continued on Tuesday with occupancy mounting to nearly 80% which will assure another Rs 27 to 29 crore to the kitty.

The movie has some glaring flaws, the mainly being the ability to hold the story together. "The first half is good. While the story starts well, Roshan fails to develop the characters beyond Hrithik's character. Apart from this, the music is also not a strong point," says Shaaminder Mailk, independent exhibitor and trade analyst for UP and Delhi region.

The flaws notwithstanding, Krrish 3 is expected to garner around Rs 130 to 150 crore in the first two weekends and experts feel that it could get lifetime collections in the range of Rs 220 to 230 crore. This might be very possible considering the sci-fi thriller has a clear run at the box office till 15 November when Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram Leela and Kangana Ranaut starrer Rajjo hit the silver screen. If it so happens, this will be the second film in the year to cross the Rs 200 crore mark after Chennai Express achieved the milestone in August 2013. It will be only the third Bollywood film ever to achieve this feat with Raj Kumar Hirani's 3 Idiots being the other movie in the elite Rs 200 crore league.

Krrish 3 was made at an estimated budget of Rs 115 crore. Its satellite rights were sold to Multi Screen Media for an estimated Rs 38 to 40 crore. It also holds the rights to the precursors in the franchise - Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish.
