Record Day One Expected: Krrish 3

Diwali has always been an auspicious day for filmmakers and Krrish 3 took an astonishing 90-per cent opening during the morning shows. This went up to 95 to 100 per cent during the afternoon shows, with many multiplexes running back-to-back house full shows. The film is expected to turn in bumper business over the weekend as tickets are already sold out at many multiplexes in many territories. We spoke to the programmers of various multiplex chains and here's what they have to say:
Amar Laykar, PVR
Krrish 3 has taken an outstanding opening all over India. The film opened with 90 per cent during the morning show and from the second show, it's been consistently 95 to 100 per cent. The kids love the film. In spite of being a weekday today and a couple of days before Diwali, occupancy is almost cent per cent. It's a perfect Diwali treat for the audience. Advance booking for the weekend has opened and has already surpassed the record for big films. This is the biggest-ever advance booking.

The opening of the film was brilliant and every show has been house full thus far. Being the festive season, the release date is positive and people were waiting for Krrish 3 for six years. We have around 27 shows at our properties in Mumbai. On average, the highest and lowest tickets are priced at Rs 450 and Rs 100 (early morning shows) respectively.

When the trailer released, and later when the songs followed, expectations waned a little. But when you watch Krrish 3, you know that Rakesh Roshan has done full justice to the film. From action to VFX, everything is perfect. The morning shows saw 85-per cent occupancy and this went up to 95 per cent from the second show in most of our properties. The report of the film is very good so the weekend will be dhamakedaar.

The film has experienced 80-per cent occupancy so far, and we are expecting it to grow further from the evening shows since today is a weekday. Apart from the fact that this is a very good film, its runtime isn't too long. So exhibitors can increase the number of shows according to the response.

The film opened to 85-per cent occupancy and we should see 100-per cent occupancy for the evening shows as the report of the film is very good. Krrish 3 will create new records and kids will love the film. I believe India was waiting for a superhero story like this.

The film took a fabulous opening and is now seeing 95-per cent occupancy in all our properties. Krrish 3 is a wonderful film and the audience is clapping and whistling for the action scenes.

Krrish 3 is doing tremendous business at all Rajhans properties. In the Gujarat circuit, the film is seeing 90 per cent footfalls. The movie has been many years in the making and Rakesh Roshan has taken the film to another level. We are screening more than 50 shows at all our properties.

In the morning, occupancy was around 70 per cent but it went up to 90 per cent from the second show. By evening, we expect the film to be house full. It's a Diwali weekend and kids will love Krrish 3. We are screening 41 shows at 11 properties. It will definitely be a bumper blockbuster film.

Krrish 3 is doing very well and the youth and family audience love it. Since it is a solo release, advance booking for the weekend is filling up very quickly. Krrish 3 is a Diwali treat for audiences across India. Hrithik Roshan is the perfect superhero.

The film is doing extremely well in our multiplexes. We ran three back-to-back, house-full shows in Suncity. Even though today is a working day, business has been rocking. Expect dhamakedaar business over the weekend. Without a doubt, business will amount to Rs 100 crore over the weekend.
