Heroine oriented roles

In 2012 the media and the entire film industry was going on and on about the fresh new wave of female oriented films and strong female roles, played by the likes of Sridevi, Vidya Balan, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti Chopra etc but what has happened since?

I can't think of anything of substance this year so far which makes me sad.

I thought Madhuri + Juhi's Gulaab Gang was due this year...?
Where the hell is Kajol?
Aishwarya was meant to make a comeback...
Karisma should continue after Disasterous Isshq...
Sridevi will hopefully be offered something great soon...
Even Rekha had a release every year from 1969 to 2004 but recently she's been on hiatus...
Vidya Balan who can usually be relied upon, didn't really deliver
Heck even Katrina has been quiet this year!
Priyanka has a few good ones coming but not for a while
Kareena... Well the less said the better
Same goes for Anushka and Asin.
Yes Sonakshi was fab in Lootera.
And Deepika was splendid this year but what happened to GIRL POWER 2013!!!!!

I don't think GTPM and Krrish 3 will do any wonders for Kareena and PC respectively. Katrina -- who has been rather low profile this year -- will strike back big with her Dhoom avatar.

It could be that the effects of last year will really be seen in 2014 and beyond because it takes that much time for projects to take-off. I'm hopeful.
