| He has received rave reviews for his performance in his latest release Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. So much so that Abhishek Bachchan, it has been said, has even overshadowed Shah Rukh Khan in the film. Abhishek admits that he was very overwhelmed with the film and would love to work with his father, Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan again. Here he talks about his films and career in films: It is said that you have overshadowed Shah Rukh Khan in KANK? Thank you but no, I am a very insignificant actor when it comes to all those around me. I am very glad that I am appreciated. One is never able to predict how the audience will react. You can only hope they will react favourably and it's a wonderful feeling when they do. Major credit for my role or my performance has to be given to Karan Johar. He is a wonderful director. He chooses his scripts, his screenplay and his actors very wisely. In fact, I'd love to work with Shah Rukh Khan again. How do you feel when you receive all the adulation from your fans? It's a great feeling but I'd rather be known as a good actor. It's embarrassing when you receive undue attention. Actors love all undue attention, but usually it is our work which is more appreciated. What about the female attention? I don't get enough female attention. At least I have not experienced it till today. But yes, someday I'd love to experience it. How do you rate your success today? For me, success is seeing my parents happy. Commercial success is not a barometer for me. If my parents are happy, it means I have achieved the world. You had the Bachchan platform when you made your foray into Bollywood. Did that help? I think it's the wrong attitude people have towards star kids. I started right from the bottom. I had to visit producer's offices in the beginning and I had to give my screen tests like other artistes do. A lot of producers refused to work with me. Right, belonging to the Bachchan family gave me an easier entrance to their door. I have known them on a personal level. I've been born and grown up in this industry. Acting is my family business just like any other businessman's kid. No one would question why Kumar Mangalam Birla took up the family business after his father. Then why question me? I am just following my family business. How do you spend your free time when you're not shooting? I spend my time with my family and dog. I love being with them, although I find very little time to spend with them |
