They both did. Being associated with two critically and commercially successful films does wonders for one's profile and the type of offers that come in afterwards. The fact that she was very much appreciated for her performance in Raanjanha is a great bonus. People know that she CAN act now.
But we'll probably not see the effect of them on her career until 2015, her 2014 slate is movies she signed onto before her success this year.
Agreed, i was thinking of writing the same thing, all of Sonam's 2014 release are prior Ranjhanna/BMB success. So i dont think we can judge the effect these success has had towards he but im sure it will be a positive one as all BO hits are. She deserves her BO/critical acclaim especially for Ranjhanna, she was convincing as Zoya and her and Dhanush shared a wonderful chemistry. For BMB I don't think she is taking the credit for it as she does for Ranjhanna and if other actress with similar role can take credit for their hit films. Why cant she?.. I can sense this whole BMB topic getting ugly, so i shall stop here...each to their own! *peace*
As a Sonam fan, ive seen potential in her from the very beginning. Yes, her diction/voice modulation can sound bit childish or immature but she could emote her feelings so well. You can sense the character and what they are feeling and thats a great asset as an actor. Aside all that one thing that infruitates me as a fan is that Sonam lacks (or has a less of..) the drive and the competitive streak that her competitors are so full of. In her 6 years of career she has only done about 9 films in comparison to her competitors who have banked about 19/10 films respectively despite one debuting much later than her 😆😆.. I know its not funny but if you compare its quite a difference. Le Sigh!!!.. So as a loyal Sonaholic, I wish to see more of Sonam onscreen. I hope come 2014/2015 with the recent success she gets the opportunity to work with amazing cast/crew. She has it in her to succeed and I hope she does!
