Flowerpots are used to enhance the beauty of a room. But they are not essential for living in the room.
Similarly flowerpot heroines are those who just enhance the beauty of the film but are not necessary for the film. They are replaceable and have very little screen space compared to the hero.
CE is an out and out masala film. And it is a rule that the heroines of masala films are just flowerpots. All they need is a pretty face, shake their butts, show their assets and dance around the bushes. But I found Deepika more than a mere flowerpot in CE. She did add some spice to the film which was necessary. She had ample screen space. And I feel she was the best choice for Menamma. What do you feel? Was she just a flowerpot who could have been easily replaced or she had an impact on the film?
