Everyone in this world is a racist...everyone frown upon the other races at one point or other in their lives.. but Indians r the only one's probably in the world who r offenders yet love to portray themselves as victims *rolls eyes*

I agree with Nandita as long as there is a "healthy" market for these fairness products in India companies would not stop making and marketing them.. so the mindset of the people need to change.. along with female foeticide color discrimination should also be eradicated from the mindsets.. I absolutely loath the matrimonial ads of wanting a fair girl 😡

whats worse is super stars like srk, PC endorsing such products- what are they trying to say? what was PC trying to say in the AD where saif picks neha over her coz she was dark but one fine day she used the cream and he got smitten by her!! Well, read in a few articles posted here in 2011... she was hurt YRF wasn't signing her after Pyaar Impossible, they were casting Kat instead. She felt it was because of her skin color.

Can't recall if she directly said it or implied or said it through a close friend. But, I can assure you I read those articles here.

Racism is about discrimination on the basis of race, however you define race. But race is a bigger concept that skin color. I dont think we are racist, we are just assholes when it comes to color. But does only color =race? I am not sure.

YRF does not sign her not because of her skin color but simply because she is not a huge star, she can't pull in crowds! Katrina is a much bigger star than her and she made yrf's hits with smaller actors like Imran where as PC couldn't! Its nothing to do with skin color- feel sorry for kat that all the credit just goes to her skin color for her success, now that itself is a racist comment by Miss chopra herself! give some credit to kat's star power rather than her skin color, may be that's why production houses are signing her left right and center

i guess d problem is we discriminate against a skin color which is our own...even wen brown/darker skin tone is wat we are born with yet we have a obsession wid fair skin which is unhealthy.being fair=good looking in our country...dat inferiority complex is something we need to get rid of...y are we apologetic of a skin color which is our own...we shud proudly be embracing it...
