The film itself is not great, but I enjoy the magic between Madhuri + SRK - it's so beautiful and it made me wanna fall in love with a stranger who I have come across (in a shopping mall, or market, or dance class) - but it takes time to connect.

I am surprised a few people said Madhuri was so bad 😲 - but maybe they're just Sridevi fayns! ⭐️

By the way, the scene you are talking about is lovely. Between a drunk Karisma and sober SRK...

The BACKGROUND MUSIC is out of this world! It's actually an instrumental piece of the title track, but it's a classical instrument, maybe a sitar(?) - or some kind of wooden guitar type thing... lol (I know what it looks like but don't know the name)

I wish they released it as MP3!

I was in class 6 whn dtph got released...I loved it...n perhaps watched it more than 50 times just for srk n madhuri...I loved their jodi...at tht age I guess I used to love mostly romantic n srk movies...now I dont know had it been released I would hv loved it or not...every movie has got tht era's specialities...n we like some movies at a certain time at a particular age...movies which r loved by entire age group n at all points of life are called classic s...n dtph falls in the first category...

Bold Ditto, I think a lot of people watched this movie for SRK-Madhuri's chemistry, they were simply perfect, this movie will always remain my all time favorites and it was such a huge musical blockbuster as well.

Karishma won National award not as a a lead role, but as a supporting female which is very well deserved IMO because she clearly overshadowed Madhuri, who was actually the lead and was considered the best actress ever of BW!

I beg to differ with you, could you plz explain How did she overshadow Madhuri? Karisma overshadowing Madhuri in a 20 minute role(Barely was she there in the movie) sounds too far fetched.😆 Otherwise also it sounds impossible. I always thought Madz made an fantabulous Yashraj heroine, the outfits she wore in the movie loved them<3 Yeah yeah people can call her fat who cares, for me she remains the best😳

I agree. I love Karisma and I love Madhuri. But there is no way in hell Madhuri was over-shadowed by Lolo. Madhuri has never been over-shadowed by anyone. That is a fact. Sorry for all the haters, but it's true. 😳

Seriously though, Mads + Lolo had great chemistry in their 2-3 scenes - and they got on really well behind the scenes, even until this day they admire each other.

Karisma was great in the movie - her best performance of the first decade of her career - but she didn't deserve National Award, and she didn't over-shadow anyone. I personally would've given the award to Urmila for Judaai (and Sridevi Best Actress, because they were spectaular in that film)

Madhuri looked old and totally out of shape in those skin fitting dresses, and looked oddly cast compared to SRK and Lolo...Lolo was the winner for me, she looked good and danced awesome ...about the scene I love SRK in his forte 😳
