Mohammed Farhan Rana Apoorva is four years old and suffering from cancer but this week he was punching goons in a Salman Khan film with the hero by his side.
The child from Narayanganj has been diagnosed with cancer, suffering from acute metastatic neuro-plasma, by the Thakurpukur Cancer hospital in Kolkata after several Bangladesh hospitals failed to detect the deadly disease.
During his time in Thakurpukur Cancer Hospital, Apoorva turned into a great fan of Indian hero Salman Khan.
"I have lost count how many times Apoorva has watched Khan's Dabangg movie series. This has kept him happy through his treatment," said Apoorva's father Mohammed Masood Rana Minto.
Earlier this month, India's Make-a-Wish Foundation offered to fly Apoorva to Mumbai to meet Salman Khan to keep the child happy.
"Though Apoorva's tumour has enlarged and he has been in some pain in the past 20 days, I okayed the flight to Mumbai," Minto told bdnews24.com.
On Thursday, Apoorva left for Mumbai with his mother Shikha Akhter Urmee by an Indigo flight, after the airlines provided free tickets.
Mother and child were taken straight to Versova in Mumbai where Salman Khan was shooting for his forthcoming film Mental'.
"Salman Khan was very cooperative and gave us much more time than we thought he would. He has asked details of my son's illness and the treatment and then asked my son to join him in fighting some goons on the set of the film," Urmee said.
"My son is over the moon now".
Urmee and Apoorva are now back to Kolkata.
The child has been undergoing treatment in Thakurpukur for two years.
A year ago, he expressed his wish to meet Salman Khan.
"When our volunteers met Apoorva at the Cancer Hospital this week, he could barely open his eyes. But he insisted whether we will keep our promise to take him to Salman Khan," said Sakuntala of Make-a-Wish Foundation who accompanied Apoorva and Urmee to Mumbai.
"We treated it as a rush wish and arranged for the trip to Mumbai," she said.
Doctors at the Cancer Hospital say the child has had a huge boost of morale and is now eating sandwiches and drinking soft beverages.
For a while, he would only drink milk.
