Would say it was a good, decent movie. A family watch. No wonder KRK bashed it --- people like him wouldn't understand such concepts, no offense.
Shahid was indeed great! It was a mixture of comedy, romance, drama. I think, if not the best(Each to their own), then it was a good come back. If people are appreciating the movie, no doubt it is cause of him. Which I find is an other kind of achievement for him. PPNH is all about Shahid! Let me be honest here and say more than the comedy, I absolutely adored Shahid in action and dramatic scenes. Mind you I'm not saying he was bad at, he had good timing and some of his comedy scenes were good. But I just loved that action/dramatic side of his. And that is why --- actually I'm now looking forward to Rambo Rajkumar and Hamlet more. In my opinion if Shahid really needs to excel in his career then I say he should concentrate on such roles. Suits him. Will go places.
As far as the movie's concerned, it was decent like mentioned but there were indeed some unnecessary scenes of supporting actors which made the movie a tad bit long. The mother/son relationship was great. But at one point me and a friend were joking around that the mother came across looking quite greedy! 😆
Illena was adorable and let me quote from one of the reviews and say she just popped in and popped out. Even when both fell in love --- it reminded me of those 90s movies. I was like: Huh, that was fast. 😆 But hey wasn't complaining. They looked good together.
Which reminds me! I simply LOVED 'Tere Bina Tu' picturization and song! Both looked great! Handsome! And yes, there you could clearly see their chemistry. Both should do hardcore love story! ;) But my only complaint's they did not picturized the whole song - at least not in the movie. All songs were good and should I need to mention Shahid is indeed emperor of dancing? Too good! Oh and 'Janam Janam' was shot well too.
Salman scene was something his fans will enjoy for sure. It was a good scene. Him being him. Don't know what the big hoopla was about though. He was there for two minutes only.
I would give the movie 3.5 - I think, everyone should see it at least once and appreciate Shahid's work in it. Some of the critics I find were being harsh for nothing. Direction/Editing just needed a bit of work.
If you are seriously not a fan of Shahid then the movie is not for you. If there's something wrong with the movie then it's director's fault 'cause Shahid did a fine job in the movie and like I said he was great!
I say this movie was a warm up for him --- if RR and Hamlet's are good scripts then Shahid is ready to charm and make new fans.
If I dare say? It was better than YJHD. If that movie can do good ... Then this movie surely deserves to do better without a doubt. Even with all its errors, I don't know but it felt like the movie was made sincerely. What else can one ask for?
