Lunchbox Holds Steady On Weekdays

Wednesday 25th September 2013 10.30 IST

Boxofficeindia.Com Trade Network

Lunchbox which started poorly but picked up well on day two is holding steady on the weekdays. The collections are not high but it should finish the week with over 10 crore nett collections and then with a likely good second weekend should manage to cross the business of Paan Singh Tomar released early last year.

Although it has to be noted that Paan Singh Tomar managed to do good business at some places outside the metros while The Lunchbox is only really collecting in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi NCR, Kolkata and Bangalore.

The Lunchbox is a low budget film but it had a heavy P&A outlay almost three times the production cost but this is probably what has helped it generate decent figures. Also the total non performance of Phata Poster Nikhla Hero at multiplexes helped the film.

Its okay sir!😆

Nawaz is such a natural actor!

My fav moment in the film is when Nawaz greets Irrfan..Good afternoon sir..the tone and the tune.😆

Loved, loved, loved it!! *sigh*
I just feel so satisfied right now...I cant say much, except, everybody needs to watch this movie, at least, once in their lifetime. No dance, no dikhawa, no glitz & glamour...just real life, plain and simple life

I found it a bit over-rated...given how much it was praised by the critics, but overall, it was a very nice film!

Even though the central premise of the story...that of a lunchbox landing at the wrong address itself is flawed...I wonder how come the Mumbai Dabbawaalas didn't raise hell over it!😆
Those guys have a 6-sigma certification...that means, their chance of committing an error are less than one in a million and according to the film, those poor chaps commit not one, but two mistakes with the Lunchboxes. Ila's hubby's lunchbox comes to Fernandez and his lunchbox goes to Ila's hubby...that sounds totally improbable!
But then far more unbelievable things happen in hindi films!😕
I liked Nawaz's performance the best...mostly because he was the most animated and in a flim so quiet and so slow, he seemed like a breathe of fresh air!
Nimrit Kaur has a stunning face...she is a real beauty...and the way she conveys her emotions without the aid of dialouges was amazing!
Irfan is always good...but not exceptional in the film! Or maybe, it was his role that limited him.
Overall, its a well-made film...quite sad and depressing for most parts...the harrowing loneliness of people in a metropolis like Mumbai being depicted very realistically.
