DC | Natasha Coutinho | 9 hours 51 min agoSouth superstar Ram Charan is all set to enter Bollywood with his debut film 'Zanjeer' that releases today. The actor says he had no apprehensions stepping into Amitabh Bachchan's shoes. He reveals he began shooting with the Big B's blessings. Ram says, "I feel our film is a great adaptation, it's a tribute with all due respect to the original cast. I could not have asked for a better script and screenplay. Incidentally, Mr Bachchan was shooting next to our sets. I met him on the first day of shoot and took his blessings. He wished me and said he hopes our film does as well as the original." He takes a pause and adds, "Although I know I can't match up to his performance. For that matter I don't even think I can match up to my dad's (Chiranjeevi) cop films. Coming from a film family myself, we have always had good relations with the Bachchans."
Ram, who is based in the South, has moved in to an apartment in Khar. Ask him if he intends to shift to Mumbai, now that he is a part of Bollywood, and the actor replies in the negative.
He says, "The reason I have bought a flat in Khar is because I keep travelling in an out of Mumbai. I didn't want to live in hotels every time." Ram, who recently got married to long time girlfriend Upasna Kamineni says marriage is the best thing that has ever happened to him. "It's the best thing that can happen to man. It's wonderful to know that you have somebody back home who is waiting for you. Upasna is a wonderful person to be with," he says adding that his wife is as excited about his Bollywood debut as he is.
