I wasn't supposed to but my cousins had already booked the tickets so didn't want to waste their money. However, no I didn't completely enjoy it because of the language barrier. Just SRK's comic timing was likable because he was quite funny, but OTT too in some of the parts. 😳 Oh and the locales were beautiful! I even want to visit SI some day now, but I'll perhaps feel the same way as SRK felt.. when it comes to languages like Tamil/Malayalam etc. 😆

'Chennai Express' 5 Days Business : Becomes SRK's Highest Grosser in 5 Days :-

Previews - 6.75 crore
Friday - 33.12 crore
Saturday - 28.05 crore
Sunday - 32.5 crore
Monday - 12.62 crore
Tuesday - 11.5 crore

TOTAL :- 124.54 crore Nett.

Chennai Express has crossed lifetime business of Jab Tak Hai Jaan (122cr), which is SRK's highest grosser in India in just 5 days after the release. Film is on the way to beat many biggies in its first week it self.

Film is very strong on its tuesday also, with only minimal drops in many places. Film had 2nd best Non Holiday tuesday ever after YJHD. Next two days will do minimum of 25cr taking its first week to 150cr mark.

Jitne muh utni baatein...dont care for what SRK's detractors say about him because he cant satisfy everyone at one go. Some are annoyed that he is beating the records of their fave star, some annoyed as now their fave star has bigger records to break, some annoyed as their favorite can never be SRK and finally some are annoyed because they had a bad dinner and think he is responsible. 😆

Like I said in another thread...you can bring the horse to the water but you cant force it to drink. CE guys can ensure screens are available but whether people choose to see their movie is completely out of their choice...no one is holding a gun to their heads.

As for OUATIMD...as people have pointed out even 3I had 1500 screens..yet it went on to make 200 crs. So even if OUATIMD gets around the same number of screens and has great content it will do well.

I am a fan...not a detractor :)...I just hope that UTV sets the market free and let audience choose...and then still CE will collect huge...I am sure...and that will be a success to savor

guys just enjoy this sucess like SRK and Rohit are doing,its issue bwn UTV and Balaji not Redchillies and Balaji, Ekta is not giving out any statement like ajay because they know they are wrong,Kal CE ek aur record jarur banayegi advance bukng for CE is very gud so be happy

Chennai Express Wednesday Collection Early Trends. Super Strong.

Chennai Express may have a slow start on Wednesday Morning shows at box office. But film is picking up well all over India from afternoon shows as tomorrow is National Holiday because of Independence Day. Film opened to 10-15% occupancy in Morning shows. But film is now registering occupancy of 40% for afternoon and evening shows, which is big for a 6th day. Occupancy could even go higher for night shows as a very good advance booking is heard for the film.

Chennai Express is right now just unstoppable at box office. Film has collected around 123.5 crore nett in first 5 days, thus becoming the biggest grosser ever for Shah Rukh Khan in 5 days flat. Looking at the Wednesday trend film is heading for an another big number for the day. Yes, occupancy in Mornings shows of Wednesday is lower than both Monday and Tuesday. But when one looks at the Evening and Night shows report of Wednesday it can be easily bigger than both Monday and Tuesday Evening and Night shows.

It is too early to make any statement but looking at the early trends, CE is heading for another big total for Wednesday which should be in the range of 9-10 crore vicinity. This is bare minimum from looking at the trends and numbers may even go higher. That means Chennai Express is super strong on weekdays. Coming 15th August film will again pick up huge as very good advance booking report is coming in from various cinemas for 15th August. Its rejoice time for all SRK fans worldwide. Film is seriously challenging 3 Idiots and Ek tha Tiger lifetime collection now.
