Katrina Kaif to sign Dostana2 -Shoots start in Oct

After five years of writing and re-writing the script, it seems thatDostana 2 will finally go on the floors this October.

If sources are to be believed, the ambitious script has finally been given a go-ahead by Dharma Productions.

Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the film will be set in Punjab ' earlier it was supposed to be shot in London ' and the protagonists will be seen as incarnations of legendary lovers Heer and Ranjha, a complete departure from its earlier setting of the beach city of Miami.

Although official announcements are yet to be made, the film will retain the original duo of Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham and is expected to release in the second half of 2014.

There continues to be a mystery around the leading lady of Karan Johar's Dostana 2.

As reported recently, Deepika Padukone was supposed to be a part of this sequel. But when contacted, a source close to Dharma Productions, they said, "Deepika hasn't been confirmed for the film. An official announcement will be made soon by Karan Johar for the same."

Even a source close to the actress revealed that, "There is no news of Deepika starring in Dostana 2 as of now," Tarun Mansukhani, director and screenplay writer of the film, remained unavailable for the comment.

On the other hand, there are also reports that Katrina Kaif might play the leading lady of Dostana 2 and that she has kept a bulk dates open from October 2013 to January 2014 for the film. As reported earlier, most of the formalities are done and Katrina is just waiting for a confirmation from the producers.
