Amazing film, SRK is back in form after 6 years of doing god knows what, baring an amazing Don 2 in between. I was clapping, whistling, jumping up and down in the theatres almost like i myself was in the film lol. My stomach was aching from laughing so much till the interval, and the film was an emotional ride from then on. 😃
SPOILERS startDid I or did I like the spoofs on SRK's previous films? A lot of them worked for me, half because i wasn't expecting it. 😆 And SRK and Deepika both have impeccable comic timing and lovely voices. I liked the DDLJ spoof, atleast it didn't try to mock the original which unfortunately we can't expect from some other films!
SPOILERS ENDS
Deepali from IPKKND was in the film at the start for 20 seconds, aww bechari ko yahan bhi dialogues nahin mile. :( oh well, atleast she got to see, talk to and shoot with my King Khan. 😳 i am so jealous! :/
OMGGG he's amazing, and whoever says Shahrukh is going down and his fan frenzy has decreased over the years needs to think again. Coz that's not happening!
Rohit Shetty was surprisingly good, and I liked how he kept the fight scenes to a minimum and that there were no double meaning jokes in the film, good job dude.😃
And the Tamil dialogues in the film weren't even that much, and there were subtitles in place so it's not as bad as people are making it out to be. 😊
PS: I'm zaahira, with a silent H so it sounds like Zaira 😳 I've been here for a while but never really posted anything, but because it was about a SRK film, one I was actually looking forward to for a change, i wanted to join in the discussion about the film and post my review. 😛
EDIT: My review that I posted after watching the preview screening:
OMGGG Chennai Express is such a nice movie. I just returned from a preview screening, not a minute of boredom or where I felt like 'OMG finish the stupid movie'. Nice, clean, un-adulterated comedy, and a complete family entertainer. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I haven't enjoyed a SRK film since 2007, baring Don 2. Now I can proudly say my King Khan is back. 😛 Deepika Padukone is a revelation, she has been surprising me all year. I liked her as Veronica, liked her a bit more in YJHD but she's really surprised a lot in Chennai Express, I totally love her now. 😳 And she has a wonderful voice, and a fabulous comic timing, and she's drop dead gorgeous. Love you Deeps <3 I'd be surprised if she doesn't bag Best Actress-popular this year 😳
I honestly didn't expect such a balanced, sweet love story from Rohit Shetty, he appears to have handled the love story aspect of it pretty well, and thank god for minimal fighting scenes and clean comedy. The cinematography was good as well, especially during Kashmir Main Tu Kanyakumari song.
I don't wanna say too much about the film, I'll just say go for it. It's not your typically intelligent film, but it is not an no-brainer, no way. It's somewhere in the middle, and if you like love stories, and nice clean laugh out loud comedies (which are hard to find these days) then I'd say go for it. It's worth your time. (:
20 screens across Australia, my local cinema has 8 shows per day, 4-6 shows on average across the country. The preview screening i went to had about 300 out of 500 seats filled which is great for a Bollywood movie. The audience was literally roaring. I'm going again tomorrow to give my friends an Eid treat, the movie definitely has repeat value, and we Aussies are definitely going again. 👍🏼
4/5 from my side. ❤️
EDIT: I went again today with my sister, she was in splits for the whole movie and she wants to go again but i'm broke after watching it twice already 😆 I would definitely like to go again though 😃
