Does anybody else think the same?? Logic loop holes are naive...sometimes totally forgetting the emotion and intent behind the actions of the characters..

Uses character flaws to derive a joke...if a character is stupid...he does not take the stupidity as an attribute...but something to be made fun off...

And watches the movie with the sole intent of finding stuff...

and the way he picks up stuff...we can find the faults in every movie...because he sees the characters in the sensibilities he has ...rather the sensibilities the characters have grown up with...

Pretentious people reading pretentious reviews...

Personally...dude is crap..over rated...and does not know how to watch a movie.

That's one way of looking at it.😆 Personally, I find him hilarious. I enjoyed watching Agent Vinod but also loved Vigil's review on it. Similarly, I laughed at his Aashiqui 2 review but that hasn't changed my mind, I will still watch Aashiqui 2 whenever it lands up on Netflix, with an open mind. I don't think his reviews are premeditated, they seem more instinctive from what I have noticed in all his strips.I find the "serious" critics more pretentious than Vigil to tell you the truth.

I think he vented genuine frustration with random plots, and that struck a chord with a lot of people. But then it became his job, not something he did for fun, and so he has to do a comics trip for every movie that releases, and that makes some of them more contrived than others. Makes you wonder if turning what you love into your job is always a good thing.

For example,

In Ramaiva Vastavva (assuming it is the shot the same way it is in the telugu version)

The older brother asks the hero to grow crop...for two reasons...his ego gets hurt by the fact that his mother looked down upon the farmers who grow food...

And mainly because he believes that this rich dude does not have enough determination in him to learn agriculture and grow crops better than him...

but the main trigger is...the guardian tells the brother that ...like you got a fair shot as a kid to grow crop on his land owners land and nullify his debt...he should give this kid a fair chance at getting want he wants back..

however he totally removes the contest...emotions...and characters we are talking about are village uneducated people...they have massive egos...but he forgets everything and makes a joke...stripping the movie of its soul...contest..basically everything!!

I call it as I see it.

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and talks like a duck it's a damn duck

I call it as I see it

👏

Agreed absolutely.

They seem to make fun of decent flicks too. And their reviews are filled with spoilers. Pretty much narrating the flick in childish comic way. And even worse that they barely given strong opinions. Rather then making fun of characterizations. I never see them praise

i dunt see why he needs to be labelled as pretentious...

its his personal opinion abt the film...and we form opinions abt films based on how WE react to particular characters or emotions...our perception of the film is coloured by our own individual values, morals and style of thinking...every person watches movies with a different mindset and has a different taste...there isnt a set "how to watch a movie" guide because we all come from different backgrounds, are bought up on a different diet of films and have had different experiences in life...

an example: the balaatkaar chamatkaar scene in 3 idiots was funny to a lot of ppl, but for a girl who went through such a trauma in her life, it would be an absolute nightmare of a scene...whoz right? whoz wrong? are ppl wrong for laughing at the wordplay? or is the girl wrong for taking it too seriously just because her views are colored by wht happened in her life and she cant see the humor in it? is there an answer to it? NOPE...

thts why his reviews are called "unintentionally hilarious movies"...because he finds it unintentionally hilarious tht some characters behave the way they do in those films when their motivations to do so ring hollow...,u might feel the emotional motivation is justified, he dosent..simple...i dunt see whts so wrong abt tht and why he needs to be trashed for doing it...he isnt dictating ppl to go by his word..he is just saying wht he feels...its not his problem if ppl get easily influenced by him because hes so persuasive...😆

i never understand the argument of ppl saying "oh critics reviews are shit"(unless the producers paid them or something)...they are the exact same as you asking a friend or a colleague "hey howz this movie?"...they arent robots writing reviews...like all humans, their views abt a film are also influenced by the way THEY think and perceive things...meaning, there is no absolute right or wrong...masand may think ZNMD is fun and frothy, raja sen thinks its absolute shit...both justify their reasons in their reviews...its up to u to see the film and decide whom u agree with...VI does the same...but he does it in a more sarcastic, deadpan, humorous way...which is his own style...like it or not...
yes they are more critical in terms of looking at loopholes and plotholes...thts why they r called "Critics"...

PS: personally, i find him hilarious...

Its called a spoof...genius!

Its a mockery of a review, meant to be taken in a light manner.
