Aamir 1947 Earth-A underrated film

The performance of Aamir as ice candy man is flawless, for me the best act by aamir till date. Show again why is he one greatest actor India has produced. The way he changes his emotion through face and, body language is quite amazing. Dil Nawaz has to be best character aamir has played.

I know they are many other performance he is been known for, but this hardly gets mentioned compared to other films

WHY???

Maybe it was too off beat to work in that era,would been a success if it was released in today times

Another scene that is etched in my memory is the one where he sees Hasan and Shanta make love...the expressions that Aamir's character has on his face and the way his eyes cloud with tears yet burn with rage and jealousy were so perfectly done! Can't imagine, any other actor to nail that scene in the way that Aamir did! What a pity, that he too had to fall for commercial considerations and from doing class acts like this film, he ends up doing Ghazini's and what not!😕 (Not that doing commerical pot-boilers can ever take away the fact that he is infact, one of the best and most talented actor that our country has ever seen!)

The songs were so beautiful, that I till date listen to them...especially Dheemi Dheemi! One of ARR's masterpiece compositions!

It as Deepa Mehta's best work till date and probably one of the finest films made on the theme of partition and hindu-muslim conflict!

Nandita Das and Rahul Khanna too did great job. Basically, it was an off-beat movie. That's why it flopped.
