it happens u know.. as they were childhood buddies, Abhi was habituated to aditi and aditi on d other hand actually made him a very important part of her life..
2 b honest their story had more depth than d leads of the film, becos i have seen many films where a nerd girl turns sexy nad d guy ios a playboy and all dat..
but abhi-aditi part had given me some sort of emotional attachment..
i do believe in their story, nd esp when they were d bestest frends and they remained like dat for d lifetime.

The character was called Avi, short for Avinash, not Abhi!😊😊
Agree...Aditya and Kalki shared some great chemistry! I kept hoping that the guy Aditi was getting married too (he was so cute too and so funny that he is Aditya's brother in real life!) would turn out to be a jerk and Avi would realize his love for Aditi at the last moment!
But I loved the explanation that Aditi gives to Bunny when he questions her why she is marrying Taran when she was in love with Avi!

These two characters actually had more depth than the leads. They were believable, and the fact that both were convincing in their parts made me invested in their story more than the lead couple. It's another story that I actually found their chemistry was better than Deepika/Ranbir too.

I mean, I kept thinking that what if Avi's reason for brooding and being depressed was actually because he didn't understand the changing feelings he was having as his best friend got married. He didn't like the change-- that Aditi was getting married, and was very vocal about it. I was rooting for Avi to finally get knocked some sense and realize that the connection that he has for Aditi is love. But of course, like most college best friends-- one of them remains oblivious, and remains friends till the end. Which was even more believable.

Needless to say, YJDH became better because of these two's story arc and chemistry.

ditto.. u explained so well.. same things i wanted to say too..
@ bold :- yes exactly, he was very vocal bout it, and i liked d fact.. it looked real.. i liked it when immediately after d leap, he was d 1st one to visit her, he had gone only for her keeping his disappointments aside, as he wasnt very happy with d wedding.. nd they had that much comfort that he cud openly say her that he isnt agreeing wid her on her marriage.. i think thats what bestfrends are.. what more can i say bouth d chemistry between kalki and Aditya ?.. yes they were top notch... very impactful indeed.
the leads surely were lovers, but Avi and aditi were more than frends, and less than lovers, and they actually had a very much deep bond in between them.. their story was really lovable..
i think this film is one of those few films, where d 2nd leads had also managed to get lots of appreciations along with the leads..

This movie would have been blander than bland without these two characters. 😆 Kalki especially! She is so damn under-rated. And its sad that when she experiments with unconventional films, they dont work well. I was actually happy for Aditi that she found a more loving guy in the form of Kunal Roy Kapoor. He grew on me with the scenes and was such a treat to watch. 😆

Avi was too much into Bunny and booze that he'd never acknowledge Aditi's love. He didnt deserve her. I didnt like the way his character was sketched. Like how Taran had to pay 2 lakhs for Avi's drinks, naturally no girl would fall for such guy!

I kind of want there to be a sequel so we can see Aditi-Avi's equation and how he deals with the change and all. Plus, I loved them more than the lead characters.
