Aashiqui 2 Heading Towards Big Surprise Hit of 2013. Second Weekend Update.
Who would have bet against Aashiqui 2 to be the biggest hit of 2013 at least as far as profit is concerned. Made on a limited budget of around 15-16 crore, Aashiqui 2 has already garnered 36.5 crore nett in the first week. That means film has earned profit even if only 1st Week India Theatricals are taken into account.
What's more is that from the latest report coming in for the second weekend specially 2nd Friday collections it is registering decent collections across India. In Delhi and Northern Belt it is registering occupancy of around 40-45% for 2nd Friday which is big. Occupancy in Mumbai city is little low with around 20-25%, but that is mainly because of good performing of Shootout At Wadala.
Although film screening is reduced because of release of Shootout At Wadala and Bombay Talkies this Friday, still Aashiqui 2 has retained significant screen space in this week also.
Looking by the start to the 2nd week a decent second weekend is also in the cards now. Even a lifetime collection of 50 crore nett can't be ruled out by the film. If and when the film is able to achieve that mark, that will be a big triumph for the makers of the film. Only Student of The Year (2012) is the last released film starring newcomers which have crossed the 50 crore nett mark at the box office in recent times. Aashiqui 2 is a Clean Hit at the box office and early trend shows it is heading towards Super Hit status.
