It was in 1990 when film AASHIQUI released. The film was best known for it's immensly popular music, which is still liked by many today!
Now, 23 years later, comes AASHQUI 2, starring Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.
AASHIQUI 2 has managed to attract attention. Because of the brand name AASHIQUI. Because of the popular music of this film too. Because of director Mohit Suri. And, the promos.
Another important thing to note is that unlike most Vishesh Films, this film has been given U certificate, which means that it is suitable for everyone. This is definitely a good thing, because if the content is good, the film will have a good, strong run at the multiplexes, where many families tend to go.
The music of the film has clicked with people, and has become popular.
The film will take a decent opening at the box office, particularly due to the brand name AASHIQUI and the popular music.
As for the content of the film, the film definitely has good chances of being liked, because of director Mohit Suri. Barring CROOK (which was anyways a delayed film), the films that Mohit Suri has directed in the last few years have seen box office success (MURDER 2 was a huge success, and RAAZ 2 was a Hit) or at the least have been appreciated even if it may not have gotten box office success (AWAARAPAN).
The film looks like it will appeal more to the classes, so I feel that the opening and overall business of the film will be best at multiplexes.

Opening Day: 5 crores net
Opening Weekend: 15+ crores net
Lifetime: 30 crores net
Overall Box Office Verdict: Above Average
