Another thing i disliked abt this movie was that they never gave a proper explanation on why the daayan was after bobo ! Is it cos he himself was a pishasch(whatever that is😆) he could just sense their existence 😕 or the daayan just wanted him to join them 😕

Bobo himself invited the Daayan by going down to hell by pressing 666 on the lift. Coz people with special powers could only access the floor below the ground. So when Bobo managed to go down to hell in his first attempt the daayan sensed that he was one amongst them. Also, Bobo was the only one who didn't die by that weird sound of the Daayan and hence the Daayan knew from the beginning that he was a Pishaj and wanted him to join her.

yay this is the the best explanation ! But do u know what pishaj actually means 😕 that word is bothering me since i watched the movie 😆

About the songs: Tote ud gaye was not needed...the choreographed dance moves looked really weird after the murky flashback that had taken the film to a different plane altogether. But Kaali kaali raat was relevant, if we keep in mind the fact that Bobo was making love to a witch. It was a subtle pointer to what was shown in the end. Another interesting detail that kind of foreshadowed the climax was Bobo's first appearance on stage in a lift that rose from below. There were many interesting ideas and details strewn about the film, like Bobo's painting of the Daayan which hung on the wall, only if they added up to something equally enchanting.

Emraan Hashmi's Ek Thi Daayan was way below trade expectations in it's first weekend at the box office. After a decent start on Friday, business slipped by around on Saturday. But it was the film's Sunday business that came as a major disappointment.

Although there was a reasonably good jump on Sunday, the collections were lower than Friday which is never a good sign.

Ek Thi Daayan has fared well at multiplexes in big-cities, but the smaller centres have been below the mark.

Economics: The film was made on a budget of 28-30 crores (including P&A), but the producers recovered 80-90% of their investment by selling the theatrical rights of all territories (except Mumbai and East Punjab) and also various rights (music, satellite). So while Ek Thi Daayan is a profitable venture for the producers, the distributors might incur losses in a few circuits.

Ek Thi Daayan Weekend Collections

  • Friday – 6.06 crores
  • Saturday – 4.98 crores (18% drop)
  • Sunday – 5.93 crores (19% growth)
  • Total Collections – 16.97 crores

Watched it today. I really liked it 😊 2nd half was kinda disappointing! But overall it was good.
Damn! I'm in love with Emraan 😳 😆
That whole scene in the first half (SPOILER 😈 written in white, highlight to read) 😆
when Konkona takes the Daayan avatar 😈 kills her husband & Misha (step daughter) that whole scene scared the shit outta me How Konkana acted throughout that scene was superb 👏 she did a great job. Also the scene where Emraan travels to hell, sees so many Bhoots & Chudails singing 'Happy Birthday' for the Daayan 😆 yeah the way they were singing it scared me a bit. Now every time I hear someone sing 'Happy Birthday' it will remind of those Bhoots & Chudails 😭 bachaooo 😆 j/k
Upar se that scary, spooky, eerie background score gave me goosebumps Emraan was fab😳 But I have to say Konkana stole the show 👏(well...that's what I think) Huma was good & Kalki's character was just there to confuse the audience that she is the Daayan when actually...*surprise surprise* Huma turns out to be the Daayan 😎 😆

p.s. - That image of Konkana in Daayan avatar main bhool hi nahi pa rahi, baar baar yaad aa rahi hai😭 Not sure whether I would be able to sleep with lights off tonight 😭 😆
