We wouldn't be like this if our logical faculties were so strong.Who are you throwing this logic at?

Every Indian has a very warped sense of their 'Fundamental Rights'. It's ok to be communist in certain aspects for the greater good, specially in something like this. Khaahe ka Nawab hai re tu! :-/

But then Saif has another point.
How do you respond to this?

"This way, use of guns should be banned! Films are creative medium and if you remove all, where is the scope of drama?"

I mean surely, if the public is that dumb and that stupid, then where do you draw the line?
If cigarettes are bad, why spare gun use in films? Lets ban that as well.

I used to listen Saif world view on many issues outside Bollywood. but his GeneralKnowledgeis dropping very fast last times😕

Bebo Effect ?

He's not relating smoking to communist attitude.
He's speaking of control over the creative freedom and censorship.
Smoking onscreen and banning that is just an example he used.

Easier to buy a cigarette than a gun? Access to Cigarette, adulterated drinks, drugs is relatively easier than guns, bombs and the likes. You cannot put everything away, atleast put the easily accessed evils away?

I think what Govt., is thinking is, First a ban will send out the message, once the public awareness rises then they can phase in cigarettes and all slowly back on screen. So people will not smoke because a saif or srk is smoking and being so stylish.*shrugs*

This is a classic example of what you can say and get away with if you have influential link to people in power. If not for Sharmila and her congress connections, this would have kicked up an uproar had some aira gaira celeb said that. *

Controlling every aspect of citizen's life is not communism, its fascism and dictatorship. The principle and theory of communism has nothing to do with the way " communists" play with power and establish party dictatorship, in erstwhile USSR, behind the iron curtains . It has got everything to do with the greed, and absolute control and the lust for power that exists in every human being and the way an average person, who has no self censorship or control, react when he /she is reluctant to let go of the power in hand.

If saif was as well aware of the world's affairs, as he claims, he would have known it was not communism, but the dictatorial attitude of the communist leaders who got into position of power that was the cause of the state of citizen freedom in their country.

* or maybe they do not really pay any attention to all the jibber jabber these bw folks shoot out to suit their need of moment.

I honestly think this was just an off handed comment he made within the brink of the moment. Just talking of something else and then just adding this without elaborating.
Might be inaccurate, but I'm not knowledgeable enough about politics to know

He should've said, "its a transgression of artistic freedom". But guess people don't get the time to grope for the correct term in an interview.
