Krrish 3 isn't a masala movie either. Masala movies are Dabbang, Rowdy Rathod, that Khiladi flick, Himmatwala, Singham, Bol Bacchan, Son of Sardar, etc. Even Ready was more of a comedy than an out-and-out masala movie.

The masala movies for this year are CE and Besharam, from what I remember.

i love masala movies...

but they need to be done by the pros...sajid is no pro at masala...neither is ajay actually...singham was rohit shetty and prakash raj's show all the way...

Its only Sajid who got bumb pe laat for his arrogant and big mouth..himmatwala is an insult to masala movies.. and masala will continue bcoz without it bollywood will become tasteless.

I hope the masala era is not over! I don't know why people trash masala moves here, a lot of them are very entertaining! I agree that in the recent times rubbish in the name of masala is being churned out but I still have hope and don't want the era to end. There have been some very good masala movies in the past like MHN, Golmaal series, MPKK, Welcome, may be even OSO to name a few. These are not made for critical acclaim but for entertaining the audience which they thoroughly did. All movies don't need to be critically acclaimed to be good, let's face it, at the end of a dull tiring day I'd rather watch an entertaining, light hearted masala flick or a rom com rather than a heavy hearted critically acclaimed movie. I think we need a mixture of both so I really really hope it's not over. Have high hopes from CE, RS is good at masala!

I am a fan of Masala movies but Sajid Khan's movies really put me off. Calling his movies terrible is an understatement.

I hope its over for good. This 100 crore club business is nauseating to say the least. Every masala film wants to be more successful than its predecessor and in doing so, they come up with the most outrageous scripts and gimmicks. This whole masala competition is nothing short of total buffoonery.
