Sanjay Dutt's Official Statement

"I have already suffered for 20 years and been in jail for 18 months. If they want me to suffer more I have to be strong. I am heart broken because today along with me, my 3 children and my wife and my family will undergo the punishment. I have always respected the judicial system and will continue to do so, even with tears in my eyes. I am going to complete all my films and won't let anyone down. I am overwhelmed by the support of my fans the industry people, the media and all the well wishers. They have always stood by me and supported me. I know in my heart that i have always been a good human being, respected the system and always been loyal to my country. My family is very emotional right now and I have to be strong for them. I am shattered and in emotional distress. I am sorry I can't come down and meet you all. God is great and he will guide me through this."

I surely do feel sad for his family especially the twins

Well he said he will finish all the movies...so now Bollywood can chill about losing money n stuff

honestly don't know much about sanjay's case but clearly he is not as much a criminal as murderers or rapists etc!

well but do find the system entirely screwed! they take so long to make decisions- like we consider inflation while calculating business - they also need to realize that such delays in decisions not only punish the culprit but also so many other people attached with their lives!

whats the fault of his newly born children in this? had he been given the punishment on time at least this wouldn't have happened!

what a slow f**ked up system- they delay it for no reason!

Eeps, I do feel sorry for him and his family! :( The poor kids. But then think about the many kids orphaned in those blasts which he was indirectly involved in. :/ He committed a crime and is paying for it, yeah the sytsem should have been faster and punished then and not 20 years later but that's how it is.

Yup, drag your family and make the janta emotional. Sab karne se pehle sochna chaiye tha. Can you imagine how many families have been affected by what you did? They have been suffering for the same amount of time,too...oh n not to mention, minus all the money and luxuries you enjoyed every single day. Adios amigo...jaisi karni waisi bharni

And what about the victims? They have been suffering for 20 years too. Kids orphaned, families torn apart, earning members dead...for NO REASON!

He already got let off easy because of political connections, got tried under the less harsh Arms Act while all his freinds doing his bidding got tried under TADA. Courts have already been "kind" to him again by reducing his sentence by 1 year, how much more kindness does he want? You do the crime, you do the time. I feel horrible for his little kids and wife, but I don't have much sympathy for Dutt.
