You've visited the city before. What do you think of Bangalore?
I've come here for an endorsement before and I love the city. The weather is great, the people are really nice and the food is very good too. I wish I knew more people here; then they could show me around because I haven't really had a chance to explore Bangalore.
Your Bollywood debut didn't quite impress the critics.
I don't know why that happened, but I feel it was because my body language is very different from that of a typical Indian girl. That's probably one thing that everyone who was part of Rockstar overlooked. At that point, I was like this empty vessel that absorbed everything in order to give it my best. Though, a lot of people overseas who watched the film said they loved it.
While every actress today does at least one item song, you still haven't. Why?
I'm not consciously staying away from anything because life is about experiencing all sorts of things and personally, I love watching item numbers. I think they are fun. I liked Chikni Chameli and Fevicol. I would love to be a part of an item song and am waiting for one. I was offered an item number in an upcoming film, Gori Tere Pyar Mein, but the dates did not match.
A lot of actors today don't hesitate to go under the knife. What about you?
When I am old and crusty, I will do everything possible to look good — be it eating healthy, doing yoga, meditation, using skin care products or even laser treatments. I believe women need to feel and look beautiful at any age. So, I don't think there's anything wrong with opting surgeries or other treatments. Every vehicle needs upkeep and I'm not anti-upkeeping.
What's brewing on the love front?
You know what, I really wish something was. I want to be in a relationship. I want to live with someone, wake up with someone, and make breakfast and all of that. And, in my culture, we don't have to get married for that, so a relationship for me is important and I really want one because I think you learn so much when you're with another human being. You learn so much about yourself too. At this moment, there's nothing happening because I don't get enough time due to work and when I do get that little bit of time, I want to be alone. I'm not interested in anyone I work with. It's not a normal life and any guy I meet would be intimated, scared or insecure. So it's difficult.
What about dating someone you work with?
You really think I would date an actor? I know many actors do date other actors, but I guess they do so because they don't really get to meet other people.
