Good God, Salman was JOKING when he said Kareena begged for the song.

Malaika, Amrita, Bebo are family friends, and after the success of Bodyguard, Arbaaz wanted to repeat the pairing in the song.

There were countless articles saying how Arbaaz was sure he could convince Kareena to do the song.
And Kareena fans even remember that it out her in a tricky situation coz those were the days right after her HT Conclave when she had said she hates the term item, but people misinterpreted it as she hates doing em. So when she would get asked if she's doing that song she would just say, she snot sure yet, but Arbaaz is family.

Highly doubt she had to beg. Unrealistic considering family terms.

She opted out or was taken out, dont know which, from Ram Leela. She was finalized for it before things fell apart.

For once she's keeping her date diary relatively free.
She had said before she got married that after marriage, nothing will change, except she might take on a little less work. So she's done.

Kareena's going the Rani way. Rani turned down all the interesting projects for YRF crap and now is nowhere...well other than being YRF's "MD"...but no films. Kareena's doing the same thing with Dharma this time though.

I hope not.

I do hope she keeps an eye out for interesting projects.

But barring that Punit film, the Dharma films are really good projects.

The one with Emran Hashmi is directed by the AD of films like Water and The Namesake.

The one with Hrithik, if true, is directed by Karan Malhotra.

Cant say I'm complaining.

movies are not family matters they are bread and butter

arbaaz will seek out that girl who can do justice

OF COURSE kareena BEGGED to do the movie..

do you think Arbaaz will come out with a term like

BEGGED on tv if she didnt do so?

she begs everyone for their film. even getting

other heroines replaced!

thank goodness this whole thing came out

on TV and live otherwise the other party would

have gone mad trying to malign Arbaaz and journos

who reported this.

Look at the let down Fevicol became. Bad

everything because no ones heart was actually in the

making once Kareena was forcefully put in because

of favours. no one likes to work like this especially

creative people. Trying to make Kareena dance is

like trying to squeeze juice out of a rock, will the

choreographer camera person dress designer

have their hearts in it?

Thats why it became such an unpopular number

and even her fans criticising her moves and

nondancing.

Had Farah had the liberty to cast who she liked

orA rbaaz whom they really knew would do justice

to it, the so ng would have sizzled in every

department and had much more complicated moves.

Katrinas Chikni Chameli is a classic example

of everything coming together to make a good

product.

dear lord the dramatics. 😆...kareena BEGGED...everyone was not interested in the item number anymore because of her...she was the sole reason behind every evil tht happened to dabangg 2...really now...😆

...kareena has been friends with arbaaz and the entire family...arpita n malaika are her best friends and shes on gr8 terms with both salman and arbaz...and do u really think someone with an ego as big as kareenas would tolerate someone telling on national tv tht she begged for a song unless it was said in a light hearted or jesty manner?...rest assured, she will probably try to clarify it in some way or the other to protect her "image"...

tht clip with arbaaz saying tht was clearly meant in a tounge n cheek, pulling the leg fashion..just like salman called her a sookha kaata in tashan in DKD, or makes fun of her attitude abt the khans...duh...

even if u leave all those dynamics out, lets look at common sense...i hardly doubt ppl like salman and arbaaz, to whom the box office really matters, would jepeordize their blockbuster film's item number just because a random woman forced herself into it...arbaazn salman owe jackshit to kareena...they r not doodh peete bacche to let a heroine bulldoze them and have decisions taken against their will for a film thts clearly so important to them...

Clearly people are not a aware of Arbaaz & Salman's dynamics with Kareena.

Both brothers treat her like a kid sister. They pull her legs, joke with her, tease.
If anyone had seen the Big Boss episode where Salman and Kareena previewed Fevicol, they would understand their dynamics.

And another thing - if an actress HAD indeed BEGGED to be part of a film or song, be rest assured, no producers would divulge it. Reality is not funny.

I've never heard Salman JOKE about how he's bailed Arbaaz's career out, coz its true. You dont joke about such matters.

Normally folks make such jokes when they're obviously not true.

People will see what they WANT to see. According to em, Kareena's been dead in terms of profession for the past 5 years.

Kareena Kapoor Has Historic Box Office Success

Kareena Kapoor is on a dream run and has seen the sort of box office success in the last 20 months or so that hardly any other actress has ever seen. Kareena in a near 2 year period has delivered four (Three Idiots, Bodyguard, Ra.One, Golmaal 3) of the top ten grossing films of all time.

There may have been a time when a certain artist may have had four top grossing films in the top ten but those releases were not in a less than two year period.

The only other time when an actress achieved a similar feat was Hema Malini in the 75-76 period when she had three films (Sholay, Dus Numbri, Sanyasi) amongst the top ten grossing films of all time and a Pratigya just outside the top ten. Sholay and Dus Numbri were amongst top five.

Hema Malini is the most successful actress at the box office and probably the only actress in history to have box office clout in an industry that always goes by the male lead. Since Hema Malini, there have been many top actresses like Rekha, Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Karisma Kapoor, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee but it is Kareena Kapoor in the last two years who dominates as far as the volume of high grossing films go.

Katrina Kaif also had a huge run in 2007-2008 with Partner, Welcome, Race and Singh is Kinng but all these films were amongst the top 15 at that time but with nett numbers not actual grosses as entertainment tax started to come down heavily from 2003 onwards. But with her line up in next 18 months or so it could happen again with gross numbers.

It is true that the Kareena Kapoor starrers are helmed by the reigning Khan's but that will always be the case as its a male lead dominated industry and even the Hema Malini starrers featured megastars like Dharmendra and Manoj Kumar who where as big or even bigger in that era than the Khan's are now.

When actresses have huge box office success be it Kareena, Katrina or even Hema Malini, there are many variables to it but to have four films in the top ten grossing films like Kareena Kapoor has at the moment is still historic because it has hardly happened before as it tough to have all your major films to work in a big way as one or two are always likely to fail you.
