Siddharth Malhotra gets into the action mode
- Article

Remo D'Souza whose ABCD is the surprise success of the season is all set to launch his next directorial venture, a UTV-Karan Johar co-production which would star Siddharth Malhotra of 'Student Of The Year' fame.
The interesting thing about Remo's new film is that he switches genres, from a dance film to an out-and-out action flick.
Says Remo, "After dancing, martial arts are my big kick in life. In fact I've studied martial arts. So instead of going straight into another dance film by doing the ABCD sequel I decided to jump genres and do an action film."
Apparently Siddharth Malhotra who did a rom-com as a starter in Student Of The Year would be training extensively for his role. The training would entail a whole amount of martial arts practice.
Says Remo, "It is an action film, and I could visualize Siddharth in the role.He has a lean athletic build that suits the part. But there would also be dancing...How can there not be dancing when my first two directorial ventures had dance numbers like Chaar baj gaye(FALTU) and of course all those fabulous dances in ABCD which all my choreographer-friends did for me.And I also made Siddharth dance to Disco deewane in Karan Johar's Student Of The Year. So there will be some dancing in my action film with Siddharth."
Chances are , Prabhu Deva would be choreographing the number with Siddharth Malhotra in Remo's action film.
Says Remo, "Prabhu had promised to choreograph one number in ABCD. But he didn't get the time.We have made a promise to one another that he will choreograph one number in my next film."
Remo has almost finished scripting the ABCD sequel as well. "Actually, I had both the scripts for this action film with Siddharth Malhotra and the sequel to ABCD ready. I am only fine-tuning them now."
Remo is delighted by the response to ABCD. "We expected it to do well. But we didn't think we'd get such an audience considering there were no major stars in the film."
Tell him he is the only choreographer from Mumbai to turn into a successful filmmaker and Remo laughs, "Yes, I believe so. It feels good."
